I'll send a message to someone in the parks dept. I've got about 4 people who will want in on this that live in Lakeland. So that's certainly a start.

I just thought I'd chime in my two cents since my name keeps popping up in this topic, for whatever reason.

I live in Virginia.

I'm sorry, but I don't really have the resources to substantiate travelling down half the East Coast to attend a war with several people I don't even know (and let alone, organize it). I'm flattered, but that's just not realistic. Christ, even for someone like OMC (who has done just about as much travelling for these things as me), that's not even realistic.

On a side note, Lancaster you hit it right on the head. You don't need someone who is well-known, you just need someone who is willing to put forth the effort and knows the area, and knows the people. Best of luck to you guys, sounds like you have the beginnings of what is to be an awesome war.

Hey guys, lakeland looks great for a few reasons: 1. Its smack dab in the middle of florida pretty much.
2. ... thats all i got but i'll look into the parks there because I just want to get one going i Live in Weston (Fort Lauderdale) which is not that close but as I said earlier lets get one started and winter break sounds great!!

i wish i could go to your nerf war.my parents are thinking about moving to florida we just havent done anything yet. but i have tons of family in the cape coral tampa fort myers area. and there are lots of good places around there. there are parks you can go to but i know there to faqr away from u guys like 2.5 or 3 hours? im not sure. but if you want any where near there i could think of some places.

Sorry about that extended absence, Mister Meiser; shockingly, I've actually been busy the last couple of weeks, and Nerf has taken a back seat. I still need to write that letter. Give me a week or two.

Hey, I haven't been active on here in a looong time. Im VERY interested in a florida nerf war. Back when I frequented I tried to start a florida war interest thread but it didn't get as many replies as this one. I live in Gainesville, it's where UF is. Anyone who is into college football has heard of Gainesville.

I second Lakeland, its not too far for me despite the fact that I have no car. Winter break is very good for me too. Sometime after exams (week of Dec. 11).

As mentioned I live in FL. I am in Sarasota which is near Tampa. I will only be living here for another 2 months but Id like to attend if this happens. I could even set up a nerf chronograph and we could run some velocity tests on everyones guns just for fun and bragging rights.

Me and some friends are putting together a Nerf War this coming February in Orlando, if any of you Florida Nerfers are interested. We're holding it at Megacon, which is a 3-day anime convention at the end of February. It costs like $45 for all three days of attendance, and we're going to have the war on at least one, maybe two of these days in the afternoon at the hotel.

We can provide hotel room floor space for people to crash, and there will be tons of fun things to do at the convention itself. You won't need to buy tickets to the convention if you're not into anime, but my group will be attending.

Anyone interested?
