Im just curious, for those of you who are still in high school, ( this may possibly apply to college as well). What social groups/cliques do you feel that you fit into? Are you a nerd, punk, emo kid, gangster, jock etc.? Im interested in knowing what demographic most nerfers see themselves in.

This contest may have some flaws, as people can simply be a deuschbag over the internet. By Lying.

I don't really think anyone can...I mean, they can hardly stand themselves, if ya know what I'm saying. Anyways, I see myself in a demographic I prefer to call "R-Class" for Revolution Class. Pretty much just a bunch of Average Joes who just live life as one should...not emotionally, richly, or angrily...just living life. Some of us do sports, some don't. Some are at the top of the class, whilesome are at the bottom. We're not wildly popular, but we know people. Overall, we're just living life in a relaxed, laid back manner.

I'm pretty much a scitzophrenic clusterfuck of randomness. I don't fit in to any of those categories, I'm just me.

hahaha, the point of this thread isnt to label others, its to allow others to label themselves. Punk and emo are not simmilar, "punk" the music and the lifestyle is about fighting injustices in society, the crap you see on fuse and mtv2 is wronlgy labeled punk. True punk rock is anti flag, aus rotten, leftover crack, the dead boys etc.

I've just never seen the logic in labeling myself a music genrea. I mean Blonde raggity headed kid describes me better then 'punk or skater' so what I listen to punk or a skate doesn't mean that's who I am. Anyways I'm gonna go find a thered and talk about nerf.

I never fit into any clique's so I just hung out with almost all of them periodically. If I were to label myself it in highschool it would have been the Gino/metal/straight edges/punks/the motorheads/the potheads/ The lower class drama queens. I did not get along with the thugs (nuff said)/Higher class drama queens (too snobby), I was kinda ok with the jocks because of my athtleticism but didnt hang out with them often. I didn't hang out with the muslim crounds at my school mainly because we shared different interests but I was cool with a few of them.
One of which was captured by the RCMP for plotting terrorism and in possession of 3 tons of ammonium nitrate. Yeah thats right 3X more than what was used in the Oklahoma city bombing. I used to play with this kid in gym class.

It really bothers me that the darker scene has changed from Goth to Emo. I cannot stand Emo kids. It's like the goth/metal scene has changed to fag metal. When I saw the AFI's new video I wanted to throw up.

You guys are right about the Goth metal. I have never been a fan of NIN or manson.
I got started by listening to Mudvayne. Current metal favs are Between the buried and me, Unearth and As I lay dying.

Ganna hve to agree with Dave, goth metal has always been fag metal. When Twisted Sister did it it was a joke. when the goth kids did it, it was gay.

This thread is in dire need of some moderation.

I support the exchanging of opinions and thoughts. However, the insulting of another person's opinion, or just another genre at all, is uncalled for, especially when derogatory terms are being used.

If you don't like a type of music, someone's beliefs, whatever it may be, then either keep it to yourself or debate peacefully, because I think these last few posts would qualify as "pointless flames." That's off the Code of Conduct, for those of you who don't recognize it.

Watch yourselves, especially those of you who have only been a member for, oh, 8 days.

Cheers.

-TWR

P.S. If you guys (i.e. the admin) need another moderator, I'd be happy to help. I've been a member on this forum long enough, and TIS should remember me from the last DCNO.
