I all of a sudden today thought, "why don't I make a ubs for one of my 2ks?" So I did. With a dremel, this is easy as pie, cake, or any other pastry.

This contest may have some flaws, as people can simply be a deuschbag over the internet. By Lying.

A war-like setting/invitational would be better...

He took it to mean you were saying you created the UBS, so cool it and make it more clear that it wasn't your idea. You didn't exactly say "this was baghead's idea" after all.

NerfMonkey, he could had easily read my post and would have found my wording to be implying that. Anyways, don't lecture me about cooling it when you frequently reply to threads that you didn't make and call newbies idiots.

Besides, If he knew someone had already made it, then it would've made sense that I said I succesfully completed one, common sense.

Now don't reply because this is not a flame fest, but just showing people how I made a ubs.

The UBS wasn't really determined by the fact that it was made of PETG with nested brass, but rather that it was designed to work on all of bags' guns. UBS stands for Universal Barrel System, so it's that Universal part that seperates the original UBS from just having a coupler breech and a lot of barrels. You haven't made a UBS, just a plain old BS.

yeah well, petg is what his system called for.

I may put some more couplers on my other air guns.

You don't need to go around calling people asshats either. That's CXs word anyways.

I ussually called a UBS, a coupler system. I will uslly slap a CPVC coupler on all my guns. If I shoot micros, I use CPVC or Brass with e-tape on the end as a barrel. If I shoot stocks, I use PVC with CPVC hammered in the end to connect...easy as pie.

May I ask what is the point of the brass? Seriously it serves no purpose. Also you still need to ramrod the darts in there, so your "UBS" system isn't that efficient( ROF).

Well since the brass is nested in the PETg, it's tighter than PETG and gives the dart a good fit. Also you can just put the dart in the brass part and put the barrel in the coupler, and the dart is already at the back of the barrel. You should probably read through Bag's original post again.

All it is is a standard breech type system. Take the barrel, stick the dart in the back, and then put the barrel on. The beauty of Bag's UBS system is that not only are all of his guns set up to use it, but the barrels are all very lightweight and inexpensive to produce (as compared to barrels made of Sch 80 PVC over brass or something) so he can have 3-5 preloaded barrels ready to go and just swap them out for each other without having to stick a dew dart in.

Don't talk bad about the UBS system until you've played alongside it. It does work, and it DOES pwn.

The brass serves a major purpose in making it universal. If he has a gun modded with a 2 inch piece of 17/32 which alot of people do for breeches, he can now attach every single one of those barrels to the 17/32.

This Topic Just solidifies how badly I Need to compleet the New and Improved UBS wirte-up, everyone and their mom continues to not truly understand the concept, yes, it was meant to save me money on barrel materials and allow all my guns to work together, but it was also for the potential team dynamic, 60% of my clan uses UBS barrel adapted guns, so if someone's out of ammo, a teammate can toss him a freshly loaded barrel in a tight situation. also, the barrels have many incarnations nowadays, I'll explain more in my own thread one of these days.

Bags: what do you use for darts? And how do they fit in say 9/16" or 17/32" brass? I've been thinking about buying some PETG and switching over, but I've got skinny stefans.

Nice job Bags, and Tofu.

Bags uses pretty standard-sized micro stefans. You say your stefans are skinny; would that be skinny as in CPVC skinny? In that case, just don't stretch your foam quite as much and you'll be fine.

They fit in CPVC, but their a little tight. 17/32" brass is what they fit in best, they're just a tiny bit looser than converted taggers in 17/32". I dont streach my darts either, I just leave them in 71/32" to straighten them out.

I used 9/16 I.D. Petg, nesting in 9/16 brass with 17/32 brass inside of that, so that the barrels can use more than one size micro dart ammo if someone was making uber-thin darts they could switch to to 1/2 CPVC or PEX tubing adapded to the same coupler (Pex has to be shaved down) all of those materials can be integrated into a well-done UBS gun. Does that help? anyway, Props tofu, I meant to give you that in my first post, but couldn't resist the opprotunity to rant.
