Since I don't have any holsters yet, and I've gotten tired of shoving my Nf into my pants in the heat of battle, I really want to put a sling on my LS or 3B. My question to you is, what do you guys use for a rifle sling or strap? What do you use to secure it to the gun, and where do you connect it?

What are those grey discs (I circled one) on the stock and next to the clip? They look like potential places for some kind of connector.

Use any kind of strap for a sling. Go to your local craft store; I can find some good strapping for $1/yd. 1u1/2-2" in width is probably the most comfortable to go over the shoulder; however (usually), the smaller, the cheaper.

As for where to attach, just get as close to the front and back as you can. They should also be on the same side (pick one: top or bottom). I would use the hole on top in front, and then drill a hole in the stock. Anyways, drill a hole (or find one that's already there) and put a key ring through it and sow the strap onto the ring, or just tie the strap through the hole.

I have a shoulder strap on my Firefly, and I love the ability to use a Firefly secondary. Besides that, I don't know what to use for the strap. I used a strap from a backpack for my firefly. On other guns, I have attached straps using drilled holes and keyrings, but I very rarely find a suitable strap for anything. Maybe Duct Tape would work? (Two long pieces of it together)

Or you could just go and buy a sling for some cheap airsoft rifle and use those. those are stronger and are better for guns. only cost about 2 bucks give or take.

You could use a guitar strap, those are strong as heck and really comfy, and come in cool designs/colors. As for getting it on the gun you can get the things that you put it on on a guitar(the name eludes me) and keep them on with some strap clamps. All should be available at a half decent music store.

I would mount one end of the strap to to gray stock piece, above where the clip holder is with a screw. Then i would mount the other end on the rail on top of the gun. There is a strap mount behind the rail but I don't know how strong it is.

I don't like straps on guns becuase most have to be loaded from the front and its akward with a strap on. I would use a strap from an old lunchbox because it has a clip at each end.

Well I did this to my Longshot a few days ago, for one purpose: I never use a primary with a side arm. It's to hard for me. So I wanted to be able to carry a large gun, and be able to use a side arm. So instead of using the holes already there. I cut myself a new one. For two purposes:
1. Using this hole ( Pic #4 in the pics) I wasn't able to use, the stock comfortably.
2. It didn't feel right while one my back.

So I suggest cutting a hole if it doesn't feel right. Here are some pics. Sorry for blurry pics.

If you really want to do it thew cheap way. (DOn't really recomend it or never really done it). But you could resort to the the duct tape sling.

Aye, you can do most anything with duct tape. Just double-layer it so it's not sticky, and there's your strap. No trip to the craft store. You could even hole punch the ends and tie a string through it to attach it to your gun.

Wow, nice job on the pics. That actually helped a lot. As for ductape (intentional spelling), I used to be quite proficient with it, but I'm just so busy now that I have time for 3 things: School, girls, and Nerf. Anything else and my head will literally explode, and I really can't tolerate that.


What did you use to cut that hole, a dremel? I think I'm going to try that.

I know someone already mentioned the guitar strap, but when I used my Crossbow with lock n' load attatched as my primary, I attatched a guitar strap to mine. The guitar strap was cheap, $15 or $20 I believe, it's adjustable and has leather ends where the pegs fit. The strap itself is made of nylon. It's a very comfortable solution. I had trouble with keeping the strap on the pegs, so I went and bought the Strap-Locks for it. These are made for guitars so the guitar never falls off if you take your hands off of it. The strap locks go for about $20 - $30 bucks, so they aren't really practical in terms of price, but they are convienent in that they have a lock that you can disengage to remove the strap easily, and they are asthetically pleasing. They also pivot so that the strap never ends up in a strange position.

I do, however, suggest putting the strap points on opposite sides of the gun if you are going to attatch from the sides. The guitar strap pegs you can just screw right on, so I put mine on opposite sides of the gun. Installing the points of attatchment on opposite sides allows the gun to sit at a more natural position when not in use. It was extremily useful when I didn't have time to reload the crossbow and pulled out the duel lock n' loads.

I just used an X-Acto knife. Mostly because I don't have a dremel. Then I attached the little clip on the screw.

Squiggs, I did exactly what you did, except I used a camera strap. It had similar hooks on it, though. Works great, thanks for the help!

Personally I use my fender strap, But if you wanted to use duct tape I would suggest that you take some cardboard and apply the tape over it; but this is only in places that need extra reinforcment such as the area where the strap will make contact with your shoulder and the two ends of the straps.
