Oh boy! Another dick wagging session! :(

I'm a distance runner and I generally run around a 7-8 minute mile. When I did track I was able to hit around 6 minutes. I'm not the fastest runner, but I'm not a slouch either. It's for fun.

Oh boy, I remember about a year ago I set my personal record is 5:24. I am actually a sprinting guy though, well used to.

Last year I blew out my hip doing hurdles. Doctor said I have trochanteric bursitis, or hip bursitis for short. Don't know what it is but I have already been thoroughly treated for it. I have had several cortisone injections and extensive physical therapy. However, I will never be able to run like I used to. I was all conference two years ago.

Too bad, still hurts when I nerf, but not as much as it used to. I suggest all you runners treat your bodies well, or you might get injured like me.

I haven't ran all summer. But I usually "jog" to my friends house thats about 1 1/2 miles away and it takes me about 11 minutes. But once I got 9.something on my stopwatch.

6:19 was my time at my last physical. We've got to get under 6:30 to stay in the {SF3G}. I probably could get under 6 minutes, but we do all our events one after the other, so I try to just pass the mile, so I can still do everything else. I wouldn't want to get 5:50 and an extra three points just to find out I'm too winded to do the push ups.

The way we do it, every fifteen seconds, you subtract a point. You start with 26 points. So, a 0 second mile will get you 26 points. A 6:30 mile will get you 0 points. You need at least one point in each event to pass.

So, yeah, 6:19. I suppose that's good considering I never run long distance. The only time I ever run is during Paintball, Airsoft, or Nerf, and that's just short sprints.

Laz, however, is on the school track team, and the cross-country team. This year, he got 4:58 on his mile. Next year he wants to break the school record (Which I don't know off the top of my head...). So, yeah. I'm not a very good runner by comparison.

My fastest mile on my bike was 2:17. That's just under the 28 MPH mark. And, no that wasn't downhill: it was on the Kissena Park Velodrome in New York. And, yes that wasset with a track bike. I couldn't have done it had the bike had brakes, a derailer, more than the two gears it had, a freewheel, etc. The bike weighs 8 pounds, and was made in 1960. All steel frame. A modern track bike weighs a lot less, but 8 pounds is still light enough to get going very, very fast.

It gave the site a sort of 'homy' feeling.

Did you know that "m" can sometimes look like "rn" when read quickly?

Yeah, my best is 6:55. Not too fast, but it gets me through the cross country season

Then you must not be 13, or you go to a very small school full of slobs. My personal best is right under 6 minutes. But I can consistently run about a 7-8 minute mile.

I've never really ran a mile, so I don't know. I've always been fast as hell, though. I can run an acre in 15-20 seconds, but I don't know about a mile. I can run short distances extremely fast, but I get tired pretty quickly. I think if I did run a mile, it'd be anywhere from 5:00-7:00

On a side note, I've never been able to out run my dad, who used to be able to get a 3:55 B)

[EDIT] 3:20 was wrong, be it typo, stipidity, or missinformation. Sorry about that.

My best is a 3:59. Which means I am too good to even vote in this poll, and my penis is clearly bigger than yours.

But seriously, running the mile doesn't have much application here. Not that I don't like talking about running, but come on. I wouldn't mind discussing the joys of running or something of that nature. My opposition to topics like this is that they inherently bring bragging of some type.

The weightlifting topic didn't have a bad discussion going, until someone ruined it. Just my thoughts in the event you wanted an example. Hobbies are nice, and I don't mind if we discuss them occasionally, but it's when bragging comes along that I have issue with the topic.

Really? Fuck, I thought 3:20 sounded wrong. It was more like 3:55 or something, I know it was under 4. Sorry about that. I will edit my above post. Thanks for telling me that.

I never bothered to time myself I can definately run a mile if though, just not terribly fast. Im not in anywhere near as good shape now as I was a couple years ago, and I didn't try running for very long, because I live at the bottom of a hill. Thats not so friendly when you're just warming up.. I keep thinking that I should jump on the tredmill, but every time I try It I rerealize that I dont have a very good view of the tv. :D

You know, I've never timed myself, but if I ran a mile,it probably be at least 10 or more minutes.
And I'm guessing that by my weight (185 lb.) and height (5 1/2ft).
And yes I know 185 lbs. is alot for a 13 year old

I'm curious to know who the two who voted 4-5 minutes are. Since a 4 minute mile would mean you are running 15 miles an hour if my math is right and even 5 minute would be 12 mph. So if anyone here (maybe Veggie boy :() can do a 12-15 mph run for a mile, I would really be surpised.
