2) Nerf HQ and Nerf Evolved are still around. Hell, Nerf Evolved just got up.
3) We don't need that many sites anyway, 2 or 3 main sites is plenty (we used to only have 2)

There was a popular site with relatively lax moderation full of vets and the newbies either stayed quiet for awhile or got yelled at for their stupidity. There was no language filter and the color scheme was dark and ominous.
There was a popular site that the noobs and kids loved cause the people there were nice and helpful and everyone conversed in emotes and in-jokes. There was a language filter and the color scheme was bright and cheerful.
To hear everyone talk about it now, that era was the pinnacle of online nerf.
So how the fuck is it different today?

Meh, NO used to be pretty bright before it got revamped.*snip*

Just in case you didn't get it.
Okay, so the glory days are over. Hell, I only caught the tail end of it myself. But we've still got some good things going.
You can poop in my toilet anytime champ.

I don't mean for this to sound mean, but are you new or something? Haven't you seen Lanard's new line? It's pretty much exactly what the Nerf community has been bitching about since Nerf went all air. Lanard has introduced sturdy, well performing cocking guns that are exactly what we've been wanting for years. Check them out.I guess your right but still it would be better if the made better guns.
From what I hear, the Max Shot is now $5 too.
Check out CX's mod: Nested Brass Max Shot
And here's a similar mod with CPVC from Diablo: Max Shot CPVC

Nerf is far from dying...

You really can't do much better than the at3k for a high ROF gun and the Max Shot for a long range gun - both still available. The SF is an awesome pump sidearm and was in stores as recently as about a year ago, the at2k is almost as nice and is still available. The only thing we haven't seen recently is a really nice spring sidearm.

NerfCenter had a great community when I began reading the boards in mid-2001. But, as much as I loved NC, it has been a barren non-updated wasteland for the past year, and the closing of it's already dead forums aren't going to have a large effect on the NIC or Hasbro.
Besides, a portion of the NIC dying isn't going to lead to Nerf dying. Hasbro looks at sales, man. They don't give a fuck what the hell we're doing over here.
*edit*
Personally, this forum reminds me a lot of NO. It's dark, for one, but this is definitely NOT the place for a newbie to hang out. That's what NHQ is for.

Indeed.this is definitely NOT the place for a newbie to hang out.
I'm glad people are picking up on that.
Not that we're trying to be exclusive or anything, we just wanted a haven from the idiots. One might even suspect that we planned for that before registering our domain.
