The NF mod I did is basically a barrel replacement, but it is beyond simply that.
This is a nightfinder mod because the plunger and trigger are from a nightfinder, and still in the original case (although modified).

It also uses a clip that loads a breech.

This is a picture of the shells (sized for micros, both stock and stefan) and the unfinished breech.
The shells are 1/2" cpvc inside 3/4" cpvc. The breech is made of 1" cpvc.

To the front breech I added a clip, with unknown capacity (I haven't made enough shells to fill it yet).
There is a foam seal to prevent air leakage between the plunger and shell.

The back breech is where the shells are ejected, by this little button here:

The gun mod is just an experiment, not a full product.

The gun is about 2 times the weight of a nightfinder, but it is used with two hands so it doesn't seem heavier.
Being my first major modification, it has flaws, but they are being worked on. The gun is not semi-auto of course. I slide the inner barrel mostly out of the gun to allow a shell to fall into the breech. The barrel is pushed back until the back of the shell touches the plunger seal. The plunger is pulled back, gun is fired. I press the button to eject the shell, and reload another.

The reload time is actually quite fast. I can load, fire, and eject a shell every 5 seconds.
The range is about 55-65 feet fired flat. I thinks its pretty good for my first major mod.

If you want a gun that has accuracy, ROF, is practical, then mod an AT3K. :(

Doing this with a homemade plunger and trigger could make an excellent weapon. I am already making my own trigger and plunger, and the gun will be reattached to that. Then it will be a homemade. Until then it is a mod.

How exactly does pushing the button eject the shell?

I have a few things to say...

1) There is 1" cpvc? WTF?

2) That ejector buttons looks kickass, how does it work?

3) I can see people using this idea as a simplified version of the FAR mag & shells, but beyond that, shelless seems to work fine for most people.

4) Your reload time seems to be kinda long...I can muzzle load my NF, prime, and fire within 3 seconds (altough some say it's because I'm asian B) )

All in all, like you said, it has flaws, but I'm sure with more experience, you will overcome those flaws (I still remember how crap my first breach was :( ).

It looks like a cool system, you have inspired me to make a new (classified). Keep it up!

1) Yes. Where I live there is a limited selection of pvc/cpvc. There are two sizes of pvc, and 5 sizes of CPVC, including 1".

2) The ejector button is a small nail that fits through a hole in the side of the chamber. It has a spring, so after it is pushed (and pushes the shell out) it goes back out so you don't have to pull it. The chamber is cut almost in half, so the shell is easy to eject.

3) It was just an experiment. I have never done this before and shells made it easier for me.

4) The long reload time is something I am working on. I am making designs for a faster design. In my new design, the plunger is connected to a boltlock. When the plunger is pulled back it locks with the trigger, a dart enters the chamber, and all you do is press the trigger. It is a two step design. So far it is classififed so people don't copy my design before I make a prototype. The new one will be basically a simplified FAR. I am trying to make the design allow for shell-less darts.

Anyone who wants to make a loader design like this one should make their own plunger + trigger and make it shoot 80 feet. If you can make one powerful enough, the simple design with slow reload will be made up for. If your gun shoots far and accurately, who will care about a 3 second delay on ROF?

you need to add some sort of foregrip if you ask me (which you didnt).
But something there, like a nonworking pump on a shotgun would do the trick i believe.

That is a complicated gun. Wouldn't it be easier if you just had a clip where you pull out the barrel far enough for a dart to fall in without shells? And I don't get how the button ejects the shell. Would you care to explain? Sorry for all the questions, but it looks really complicated and big.

the button ejection is extremely simple. There's an ejection port on the other side. The button is connected to a rod which pushes the shell out the side. Still, shells don't seem too necessary, especially in a gravity mag.

I agree with davenelz about the foregrip, but there's no point in putting on a nonfunctional pump handle if you actually have a pump action to operate. I think you should add on a handle to the barrel.
