Alright, I've got the length and width of the BBB spring (length:4 7/8 , Width: 7/8), But does anyone know the gauge of steel of the spring? If someone could answer this, I know I would be appreciative, and so would anyone wanting to do Carrtoon's Longshot mod, So that they could just go to a hardware store and pick one up. It may be a good idea, though, to get one of a slightly lower gauge steel. Though if we could reinforce the Longshot, We would not have to worry about pieces inside of it breaking.

You'd really be better off ordering a spring like that online. If you go to a hardware store with three exact specifications, chances are they won't have it in stock, it'll take a long time (And maybe extra money) to order, and they won't have the capability of making one to your specifications.

That's where our good friends at McMaster-Carr come in. Type in 'springs' or 'compression springs' and you'll find a gigantanourmous selection of springs. Find the one with the dimensions you're looking for, and order it.

However, it'd probably be easier and faster (not to mention cheaper) to just go out and buy a Big Bad Bow. Or, go to the trading section of this forum and ask if anyone is willing to sell a BBB, or if they have a broken one, and want to sell the spring.

If you're dead set on buying an industrial spring, go to the link I provided and get one of those.
