A Friend of mine purchased a MagStrike at Wal-Mart today and when we tried it out, something funny happened.
it didnt shoot all it's Stock Darts In a full Pumping. It didnt even get through 1 clip. So we thought it was just a defective gun. So we took it back and got another one. Same thing happened with the new one.
So we decided to take it home and try to see what the problem was. But before we tore it open, we tried it with Normal Suction Darts. And it worked Beautifully. We said, "I guess it was just a fluke last time" so we loaded it back up with the Velcro Darts, and it didnt work again.
Seems that Nerf didnt Test the Gun with the darts that they would be selling with it. So we tried it with a bunch of other darts. It worked just fine with them all, but it worked best with the Sonic Micros. Went over 35 feet flat with every shot.
Another thing tho. It never lasted both Clips. Thats rather dissapointing.
Am I the only one experiencing this problem? or are the rest of you too?

Possible Design Flaw In The Mag Strike
Is it just me? or is it the same with all of you?

Let's see....
How many times are you pumping? Are you pumping until the air pressure release valve does it's job? That's around 30 pumps. I haven't had any trouble shooting taggers either. So far yours looks to be the only problem story as when the magstrikes first hit (and someone got them off Wal-Mart.com) the initial reports were quite positive.
As for the shots, I got 12 but after ten I held down the trigger even a bit longer and released some air before switching clips so maybe there could have been more. Eh, it's not that bothersome to have to pump between clips, just manage your shots. Even pump between bursts of fire, go nuts.

There might be a reason to this, because I had a similer problem as well so I compared the taggers to refill taggers you get in the bags, and made a startiling discovery. The darts you get with the gun are shorter and thinner then the refill pack darts. And the hole at the base is wider.
I'm not sure but this difference would probably affect the gun in a very noticable way. So I'm off to get pics of the different darts and some ranges with the different darts.
Meiser----
EDIT--- Anyone that gets the taggers with the gun just throw them away, if you are going to use the stock taggers shell out the eight dollars at your Wally World for a refill pack.

Edit Edit--- Alright I was frustrated when I posted, don't actually throw them away, just give them to your cat for a great chew toy!!!!

*my first post*
anyway...
I have a magstrike and the darts that I recieved in the origional package worked very well. those taggers seem no different than any of the others that i have purchaced. maybe i was just lucky.
I as well only can get about 12 shots from a full pumping if i hold down the trigger. But when i fire in small bursts with seconds in between i am able to get 15.

My tagger darts work fine, My magstrike fires perfectly, and they have nothing wrong with them. I noticed that they are slightly shorter than the refill packs, but that's great since they fit in Mavericks and fireflys when the refills don't (until I cut about 1/8" off of them). There is no reason at all to throw those darts away. If you hate them so much, then make them into stefans that'll work in the Longshot.
Probably dead by now, or something.
