LEftnut, thought anyone who wants to come to our wars is welcomed. We usually have like 20 people, but now we have like ten, cause of camp and vacation. Our clan has like 30 people in it, but most are like noobs. Was that why-haven't-we-nerfed question directed at me or Leftnut, z80? In regards to the stock, it's pretty comfortable . . . Nerf seems to have a decent grip on ergonomics.

I think this'll be like acrossbow. Shitty ranges until you mod it and... KAPOW! One helluva gun.
I don't really undestand why General Cole is making articles of clothing with my name on it. First it frightened me, but after a few hours I got over it. It seems obvious that General Cole is hoping to have sex with me.

I've decided that I'm going to do some stock tests before I open up the main gun, so it might take me a little while longer before I get internal pictures to everyone.

I think the only reason there were any left when I visited the store was because the six remaining were on the very top shelf. *I* certainly couldn't reach them, but my 6' 9" friend could, luckily.

EDIT: Remember, if the ranges I posted seem short, especially in comparison to what the box says, it's because my test was done from the muzzle to impact while the gun was resting on the floor. Hasbro tests ranges by having the gun at about chest level on an average kid they want to sell Nerf products to, adding more hang time and distance to their measurements

Ok here is the plunger tube. That little nub sticking of the reciver is what stops you from getting to the restrictors. I think you'll probably have to cut that part of the barrel of at least intially to mod the gun. The picture i took on the inside of the plunger tube didn't turn out but there is a lot of restriction, and the it looks kinda like a NF plunger tube, including a similar air restrictor to the one on the NF. I'd guess it would probably get around 50-60' without restrictors.
Here is the plunger rod. It's big, beefy, has a big, but wimpy spring, and a small o-ring. Deffinately room for improvment.

EDIT: Can't forget to upgrade the O-ring, either. Glad I have a whole set of them lying around.

As you can see from part 8 of the assembly instructions, it was originally slated to come with sonic streamline darts; I removed the sticker by scratching it carefully with tweezers. There are five hastily removed mentions of Sonic in the manual. Bummer.
The stock darts seem to get remarkable distances angled, although the quality of the darts seem to be iffy. Fired flat it doesn't seem very impressive.
Inside the Secondary gun the air restrictor is very difficult to remove, similar to another gun, but I can't remember the name of it. Part of the Unity series.

I wonder out loud if they intended for those puppies to make noise, then changed the plan before production?
Maybe it's so the s.nipers wouldn't be heard from 35 feet away.
Good first post and observation, Walter. Enjoy your new Longshots (you lucky bastards)

Anyway, it looks good. Though, I feel more inclined to get a BBB than this for some reason. I can clip mod the BBB, and probably can get a faster ROF.

Walter - I noticed those stickers too, but didn't bother pulling them off. I belive Piney was right when he said they initially wanted sonic darts, but changed it before release. Funny thing is, though, my friend was playing with my LS, and he fired it at me from a decent distance, and since he had to aim around a railing to hit me, he continually missed me. One of them flew right by my ear, and the hole in the dart's tip caused a low whistling sound that you can only hear from close by.
Jikman - Don't worry about repeating yourself. I dunno how high of a ROF you can get on a clip-modded BBB, but if you can pull the bolt pretty quick on the LS, you can get a relatively high ROF. Rate of reload, though, once you run through both clips, is kind of iffy, since Nerf has started marketing neither extra streamlines or extra clips, which I figure as the next thing for them to do.

1.) what bullets dose the pistol use?
2.) is the scope a scope or just a tube with crosshairs?
3.) clips and darts ARE NOT being planned to be sold seperatly at this time??
4.) is it a bitch to remove air restrictor?
5.) stefans do work right?
6.) range in practicall use(when trying to get most range by angleing) is how far?
7.) accuracy is good or bad?
8.) dose it make a good primary choice?
9.) do you see yourself useing the pistol seperatly because of size?
10.) would you or wouldnt you keep pistol on or off.
11.) too many questions?
Sorry for so many.

Forsaken: Not, you need to remove the ARs, and also I think you may need 2" or bigger stefans for it to work well.
Moubeus: I'll answer the questions that haven't already been answered
2. Scope= nasty crap
3. correct
4. yes
6. stock? Modded? Angled? What?
7. Good for a stock gun
8. Well have to wait until it's been modded
9. This thing is WAY too big with combined, so yes, but it's basically a crossfire
10. off
11. yes

moubeus - to clarify what Sam said:
1) Any dart works in the pistol
2) The scope is just a tube with a reticle
3) At the moment, no plans to market extra clips or streamline darts
4) In the pistol, it's just as hard as removing the one in the Crossfire. In the rifle, I don't know.
5) Stefans are guaranteed to work in the pistol, and it's still iffy in the rifle
6) I'm gonna agree with Sam on this one and ask you to be more specific on the range question
7) The accuracy is pretty decent
8) It makes a good choice, but I'm not sure if it's primary material for me. That sort of stuff is subjective.
9) Once I chop the pistol out of the extension, I'm sure i'll use it separately, like another Crossfire. There is no way anyone would want to even try to run around with a three foot primary.
10) Definitely keep the pistol off. It's too unwieldy with it on, and see my answer to number 9 for more of an explanation
11) I've seen a lot more questions before, so I'm not worried
Sam - Thanks for fielding while I was at work

The Longshot is the baddest thing on the planet. Badder than the Power Glove. ALMOST Badder than Chuck Norris.
Heck yes, got one tonight. The thing is even cooler in person.
In spite of what sounds like a gigantimous air restrictor, when loaded and fired it has a very deep sound that my enemies will learn to fear.
By the way, the scope looks absolutely ridiculous on the Maverick.
