Hello, as we are all very excited for the new blasters, we need to start brainstorming for apparent mods on the longshot and magstrike! For this topic, come up with ideas for mods that you think may be possible, and state them. Do not criticize because we cannot be sure about anything and we dont have the guns. Be nice!!!

In war, one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic...

I know not what WWIII wil be fought with; however, WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones...

Umm, for the magstrike do a mod like what you would do for a Powerclip.
As for the longshot I need to get one before I can say what I could do with it (besides the logical, remove airflow restrictors and replace the plunger head.)

I finally found a topic to post in for my return.: )

Anyway on the magstrike i would say other than drilling air ristrictors and pum plugs and things. maybe add a barrel! Well more of one anyway, so my idea is to nest some PETG or brass in 1/2 pvc so the mag fits through. Then on one end at the very edge and cut out the mag rectangle with no pvc on one of the short sides. Then attach that side to where the air is outputted and when it fires the dart it should fire through a barrel for more accuracy and distance. I hope  .

Maverick Master, because the darts are staggered in the clip (zig-zag pattern), it is highly impractical to make a barrel for it, and even if you did, I don't see how it could help you more than not having a barrel because you'd need a large size of PVC, thus negating the benefits of a barrel.

However, you can still do a bunch of PC mods to it (rubber bands/bike tire tubing over the bladder, RF20 bladder replacement/backpack [ompa], cut the bladder down [some say it's good, others bad]) and even sand some stuff on both PC and MS clips so they can be interchangeable (Lt. Pat's discovery). Basically, anything that can be done to the PC, the MS can do it too, and sometimes better (slightly bigger bladder means better stock ranges, but if you cut/replace the bladder on both to the same size, they're basically the same gun).

I have 1/2" ID (11/4" OD) pipe insulation sheathed over mine. It's like a condom; be safe.

2nd Lt. Don't go promoting me yet. I reckon once Will heads off to College there'll be some changes, and I'll take up Bravo. And it's SOP to have a Lieutenant heading up Bravo.

Anyway, yeah, those are all good possible mods for the Magstrike. Also, another thing I figured out; once the restrictors are gone, with a little sanding from the back of the barrels, 17/32" brass can be fully nested through the barrels. Or, with only the restrictors gone, you can put 17/32" brass through all but about 1/3" of the barrels. This negates the need for 'secondary' barrels, like Maverick Master was talking about.

I haven't acutally cut the brass and made a brassed MS clip (Can I just call it a BMSC? I don't like typing 'brassed'. I always spell it wrong and have to type it again), so don't ask for ranges or anything yet. I probably will get around to it in a couple days, maybe on Saturday, after I get certified. Anyway, my Stefans don't fit well in 17/32 for a weak air gun. They're really tight, so that might not be best for a gun like the Magstrike. However, I'll whip up some Loser Darts (No, not asshole darts. I actually have started calling them loser darts in real life.) with some lighter weights than normal, so the MS can handle them more easily.

So, once I make a BMSC with 17/32" and 1/2" brass (So they'll fit converted Dart Tag loser darts well), I'll get back to you with some ranges and results.

Also, I may minimize the bladder. It'll hold less air, but it'll be more powerful per-shot. I don't mind losing the two-mag capability, because the trigger timing is hard to pull off. Well, then again, maybe I'll replace the bladder with a bigger tube, and get rid of the OPRV wall (The wall that the Over Pressure Release Valve presses against in order to be activated). That might work well too. I'm tempted to try what Ompa said about some kind of Backpack rig, but I've never done anything like that before, and I've seen too many ideas like that in the home-mades section shot down in seconds.

Well, I'll get back to you all on Saturday with some mods results for the Magstrike. I just hope I don't fuck it up; it's new, it's expensive, and it's pretty damn good un-modded.

Sincereley,
Pat

It gave the site a sort of 'homy' feeling.

Did you know that "m" can sometimes look like "rn" when read quickly?

I recently opeaned up my magstrike to band the bladder and plug the pump. I noticed that the pump is unplugable because the air pressure release valve is located in the rear of the bladder. Also one little tip dont mess with any thing near the bladder as i found out the hard way that the peices that attach to the bladder are very weak and just snapped of when i gingerly tried to unscrew the pump tubing.

Pumping the plug on a bladder is pointless. You'll stress the baldder with excessive pumping and it will pop in your hands like a balloon.
