I recently made a splitfire holster following the yakman one, the one I made turned out looking good but my sf didn't fit so well in it as I had hoped. I made a strap to hold it onto my leg (or whatever you call it) out of webbing strap and buckles. That part I succeded in. The sf, in the holster, gets loose and flops around. Anyone have any suggestions for making one that won't flop around, and that I can take my sf out easily? Thanks.

And yes, I have done my research and haven't found success.

To keep it from flopping around, just add more contact points. One at the top and bottom should do fine. I can't help you any more than that without pics.

As for a better holster in itself, I believe there was some innovation a while ago with shaping a wire hanger to your gun for a frame and then wrapping, say, tape around it.

Yea, I tried that. It didn't turn out so well. It was too short. I need to make one like spoon's. I just need to make one a bit longer, I guess.

I believe "Leg" is, infact, the correct term.

Anyway, you should just add some more contact points. Well, maybe some pics would help: I've never made a holster for a pistol that was wider than it was tall, but it can't be too different. Yeah: if sewn, just try bringing in the seam at some key places, mainly the base of the holster (Where the barrels are), and the lip, where the gun is inserted. Adding some kind of elasticized fabric around the lip, or mouth of the holster will help reduce wobbliness.

It gave the site a sort of 'homy' feeling.

Did you know that "m" can sometimes look like "rn" when read quickly?

I was wondering if it was called a leg strap, wasn't worried about leg.
