Notice that while there's all this debate/ squabbling going on about NE, NHQ, and NH, that 3DBBQ kid has been amusing himself with all his cool homemade stuff? And no one is knocking him for what appears to be a basic homemade, jazzed up a little and made cosmetically cool? 2. Since the site is up, we can do what Cadmond said, argue about the facts (and also hear some comments/constructive critisism). So, what do you think of it?

Alright, I just got back from vacation today. I did read all this stuff though. I, thanks to a bug at F-125, have known about NE for about 4 months. It is another Nerf site with more people that want to have a higher status. I firmly believe that Cxwq, Spoon, and VACC run this site to have a Nerf site to help people. They have wars because they live in a "hotspot of Nerf". If you sit in your room all day, bitch that there are no nerfers in your areas, and post on the forums in hope of being a nerf god, you are about 60% of all people that post online. As I read all this, I like to think of a game called "Hunter" that I played with my brother and my neighbor. We hid in the house and shot each other with Rip Chords, Razor Fins, and Vortex Tornados. I like that Nerf just as much as I liked Nerf in my Nerfing prime. People have always emphasized this. If you don't have wars, why do you nerf? It seems to me that Nerf has encountered a wall. Its simple to mod a gun. Homemades are so advanced, they aren't allowed at some places. What is there left to do? Just have wars. Nerf has come full circle to just have wars and have fun. Vacc elaborated on all of this really well in his article. There's something about NE that just pisses me off. I haven't put my finger on it yet though.

When you look at the list of the people contributing to the site, how can you honestly believe that any of us would be naive enough to think that creating a site would "raise our status". How many of us have you heard bitch about "not having people in the area"? The entire purpose of NE is to help people by sharing content. As different as it may be from your personal views, some of us still want to mod guns and come up with new things. Does that mean that we're wrong?

Sorry you feel this way. Perhaps if you had more insight into what went into planning this site and all the time we've put into it, you'd realize that if all we cared about was our own image, we would have put the effort into doing so on an internet community that actually wasn't mocked by every other community to stumble upon it.

Angry at a web site? If there's something insulting on there, let me know. Last time I checked there wasn't, but correct me if I'm wrong. If not, I would seriously take into question your own intentions for being involved in these forums.

While I appreciate your faith in the NH crew, I don't think the majority of the people involved in NE are in it for the status. I'd guess that Matt (as he freely admitted) is mostly interested in the technology aspect of the site and that most, if not all, of the others are simply trying to turn that technology into something cool for the community.

I don't presume to speak for any of the 9 (?) staff members over there, but I don't think their combined ego is as big as many people are suggesting.

At it's worst, NE is a pretty nice chunk of content. Several of the mods/homemades/articles/editorials are completely new information that's very well presented. They easily have more content than any previous site has had when it launched.

Yah, like I said, I am in fact more interested in the techonology of NE, in fact all of F-125 is my stretching my computer know how, and learning more. I just prefer to use my capabilities for subjects I find itneresting, and I do find Nerf interesting, even if I don't get around to playing as much as others. Anyway, if you guys have trouble with NE, please report it on the NE feedback forum, that's the one I watch for bug alerts...

Have you ever even seen my clan site? www.neofaction.tk, we get about a new clan member every month and I've yet to update the site since our last 2 or 3 new clan members. We Nerf about once a week, 4 hours each war. Our clan is huge compared to most others, we have a total of 15 members (about 18 or so if you count "the kids") so don't talk about me not Nerfing enough.......

And about us wanting to raise our status in the NIC. Do you realize that every single member of our team (with the exception of Nitti and perhaps myself, I joined early 01) has been on the Nerf forums way before you? Do you really think people like Sandman and Merlinski give a damn about being "cool" on the internet? I think not. You should stop and think about what you say before you go and make an ass out of yourself.

Hey, just look at it like this: NC is closing up shop, so NE is sort of taking it's place in the NIC.

And yes, at one point, I was on the NE team, but was released due to "Lack of experience". Now I'm kind of happy that I was kicked off, because it seems everyone that's still on the team is catching shit from everyone.

I still don't understand exactly why that was, but I suppose it doesn't really matter, unless you're the kind of person that likes moderating forums, or a site's structural form. Content can be contributed by anybody, and I know I'd be fine if I wasn't on the team for that reason... It's just about the same thing, with less "responsibilities."

There are a few phrases that I would like to reacqaunt you with. They are as follows: LCM, APOC, Reckoning. First off, I am an original member of the LCM; we now have 13 members. We do Nerf practically on a weekly basis. It's not like Evil or I are sitting here on our hands. The two of us have organized three major nerf wars. How many have you organized? I am not without nerf experience nor do I fucking sit at my computer thinking about what a nerf war would be like. It's people like you that show me how fun can be ripped out of everything.

I'm not going to vouch for my nerfing ability because that is actually irrelevent because who's to say who is better than who over a nerf message board. Don't you dare try to catagorize me as one of those people that does nothing. I love this activity. Why else would I spend my time and money to host a nerf war and make sure my attendees have a good time? It's not like I don't have other things to spend my time and money doing. The problem I see with your post is you tried to over generalize the people on that are on staff. As you will learn from reading my post, it tends to piss people off, namely me.

Your post just eats my skin, because Evil and I wrote a lot of content. Why should I be judged for being on a staff of a nerf site? I spend time running NHQ and during the year work on my clan's site. I wanted to help out because the guys on that staff are amazing. Is there a problem with me wanting to help a nerf site? Is there a problem with me writing content for it?

I don't think the intended purpose of NE was to kill any site. I agree the news about open::nerf and NC are unfortunate, but NC was never my cup of tea. Just like NE apparently is to you. I have said in a previous post that by far, this site is my favorite and I much enjoy visiting it over all the other nerf forums. I'm currently working on an article for this site and I have collaborated with Evil on an article for this site. I plan to do more articles for the community; they all won't be posted on NE.

Keep in mind that I'm most influential at NHQ, where most of the day to day stuff goes through me. I don't own the site. I don't want to own the site. The responsibility kind of just fell on me. How am I trying to elevate my status? If I wanted to do that, I tried to build a hub on my own. I find that being an admin and such is more of a drag than it is fun most of the times.....then again I do take things rather seriously.

I don't consider myself a nerf god. I don't want to be a nerf god. I don't think anyone will ever call me a nerf god. Frankly, the title of veteran and whatnot suck. I'm not trying to get myself more power just for the sake of power.

Okay I mean this just like it's going to sound, so don't bother reading it twice. Do us all a favor and shut the fuck up. I doubt it's occurred to you that we, the NE staff, might actually want to help the community, add to it, and broaden it's scope as a whole. Some people do want to get out there and do something. We're not here for titles or status, we're here to make a difference.

Another website with mods, articles, editorials, reviews, and useful information isn't going to kill anyone. You act like it's a sin to try and add to a community that is this small. We're doing our part to make an impact, and help (with sites like NerfHaven) to move Nerf forward.

What I got out of Rhino's post was he was making a generalization, not actually saying you all did the things he said. I don't see why you changed your mind, but that other posts makes what you've said here no longer an opinion, but some kind of manipulative equivocal ploy.

I took it a bit to heart since when people make generalizations, those generalizations should of course be correct. Well I would like to think so. Shindig and I are part of the LCM, which regularly wars. Our experience or effort isn't in question, it's more so a matter of integrity seeing as though when he generalized, he said we were intending to up our own "status". Shindig was merely backing our "status" as is, saying that we have nothing to prove to the community, as we Nerf regularly anyway. At least I think that was his intent.

We're just looking to add to it.
