It seems to me that a Nerf video game like Arena Blast is much better suited to Wii than PC. You can arch the controller like a Nerf gun to make the darts go further, etc. I'm sure there's a hundred ohter ideas they can come up with. Granted, nowhere near as fun as regular Nerfing, but if you're going to have games like Arena Blast, that's the way to do it I think.

Uh, Tofu, you ARE aware that the Nintendo Revolution was renamed the Nintendo "Wii", right?

He's talking about the controller, etc. being well-suited for 1st-person shooters, and is thinking how freaking schweet it would be if they made a FPS based on nerf.

Hell, I know I'd buy it...

I know it'll never happen, but I suppose this is a good way to begin discussion on the Wii...

Commence.

Of course I knew it was the wii. But I was wondering why the heck he was bringing up a nerf game for it.

I believe they were referring to the Nerf computer game. I think it's a first person shooter...with Nerf guns, but I'm not too clear on it.

no they are reffering to having a nerf game on the wii, or revolution as one should call it. Wii is silly.

Anyways, It was weird to see this post in general, it makes more sense to go in off topic, that's what I was reacting too.

It's an idea that's interesting enough for enjoyable discussion.

Personally, I don't see it happening, although thinking of the possibilities forces me to hopefully reconsider. Another Nerf-Person-Shooter would quite excellent, but its probability isn't the greatest. Hasbro wouldn't be 100% eager to develop a game just for one console, they'd most likely create a crappier title for the PS3/XBox 360 if they would make a sequel to ArenaBlast.

I was considering putting it in off topic, but the discussion is about a theoretical GAME for the system and thus should be related less to the Wii and more to the mechanics of said theoretical game as I'm presupposing that you all know about the console already, which is my bad. Here's Wii, Nintendo's new system:

http://wii.nintendo.com

So anyway, I think Nerf Arena Blast 2 could be sweet as hell on Wii focusing specifically on the basic skill that makes any Nerfer good: the ability to properly guage the necessary arch of your gun to nail your target in the heat of battle. There could be a lot mroe they could do with the Wiimote such as reloading your gun with hand gestures or movements of the nunchuk--or even simulat ing specific hand gestures, such as replacing a clip in the Magstrike, cocking a Nite Finder, etc. Think of more possibilities--that's what this thread is for, not for a discussion about Wii.

As for the possibility of them making it: if it takes off like it seems as if it's going to, the development costs are significantly less than that of X360 and PS3. I think this might be the MOST LIKELY place for a sequel to appear rather than the other two. I imagine they'd make a fairly cheap product that would appeal basically to us and some the silent Nerfers out there. Wii would be the place to put it if it reaches as wide an audience as it has the potential to. Here's hoping Hasbro notices Wii's potential. Or someone from Nerf reads this post.

It would indeed be badass if they implemented your afforementioned ideas. They could port it to the PS3 pretty easily too, as that controller will also be motion sensitive. When I first looked at this topic, I was like, "WTF?" but it is an interesting topic for conversation.

It would be limited on PS3 because the controller only has the functionality of the nunchuk. A fuller range of motion is necessary to simulate reload animations and allow more freedom in a free roaming shooting environment. I think it could be realized to its fullest potential on Wii, not on PS3.

Oh of course; I never said anything of the sort. It would obviously be superior on the Wii, I was merely stating that it could be ported to the PS3 without too much loss of playability.

God it would be badass if they made this game. Thanks a lot for making us wish for something that will probably never be, CaptainCC
