I've noticed on many homemades that people cut the case in half and then have screws. How did you make/put in the screw ports? Can someone get me a pic or two? Thanks.

You drill and tap holes through the wall of the case. Sheet metal screws do the job nicely.

I don't think anyone uses those little poles like the Nerf-made casings.

I'm just wondering what you mean, as I can't think of any homemades that do that (most use whole tubes). Could you give an example?

I'm making my gun using screws. You have to drill a pass-through hole, then drill and tap the holes you want the screws to hold onto.
A tap cuts a thread into a certain size range of drilled hole.

I'm using mostly #6-32 screws so I have a matching tap.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I'm assuming he's refering to guns like mine and Boltsniper's.

See the grey thing in the back?

It's 2 pieces of balsa that sandwich a layer of that plumber's putty epoxy. Then I just drill a hole through that and the other part of the gun and screw it straight up through the epoxy and the other case.

Boltsniper makes little tabs and screws them in so the screw heads are on the side of the gun, mine are on the bottom.

Thanks for the prompt replies, guys. Carbon, as you can see in ompa's pic, he cut his case in half. I'm guessing to get it in easier, which is why I'm going to do the same to mine.

Thanks ompa, that's exactly what I needed. So you just have one at the back? Wouldn't the front be loose?

On the pistol I have 2, on the NEAR I have 3. I did it so, as you said, it was easier to access the internals for replacement/repair. I loved that Bolt's guns could all be disassembled easily, so I tried to emulate that.
