I was wondering if there is anything that can be done about ebay sellers who exegerate their ranges. If you were to buy the gun and the gun didn't perform as the seller said would you be able to return the item and get your money back? I've seen some pretty bullshit claims on ebay today. I understand people are trying to sell their products but some of the stuff I've seen is just out there. And they sit there and lie to the people who know no better. I went as far as to PM one guy. He simply told me to get a life and stop criticizing him. I just hate to see people taken advantage of. Most of the people who do it aren't apart of the NIC. But it still bothers me. I just wanted to state my opinions and wanted to know if anything could be done about. Does anyone else agree with me?

people have been saying that they have ranges of about 110-130 ftwith the EX-3 version...I always thought it would be rareish but if anything I thought the original....
P.S. TOtally agree. EVen new nerfers out there are looking for a quick shot gun they can buy for sheap, and people are selling them these exaggerated thigns, and they dont even realize there being ripped off (sometimes even with older nerfers)

That is EXACTLY what I thought UncleHammer. I doubt you can do anything but I've seen people saying that their First Shot gets 100 feet.

You can very easily return a gun if it does not perform as well as the seller says it does, and some assholes will lie, saying that a gun did not perform good enough, just to screw them out of their money. I've seen a few people on this board who have sold guns on ebay with honest ranges only to have some asshat say that the gun did not perform as they said it would. ;)

The lieing on both sides needs to stop. The seller needs to be honest about his ranges, and the buyer shouldn't scam the seller out of his money.

Now thats just an asshole. It's the ones who buy a "100 ft shooting" gun that I feel sorry for. What really made me make this thread was an ebay item. It was an at2k stock barrels with no plugged pump. The restrictors had been removed from three of the barrels. The guy is saying he can hit 100 ft flat with stock darts and no plugged pump from the three barrels with an air restrictor removed. That just pisses me off.

That really pisses me off too, I can't believe someone could say that they get ranges like that, and the fact that the guy has only removed restrictors from three of the barrels and is going to sell it like that is just half-assed. Not to mention that the guy who buys it will end up with a piece of shit that he paid $20+ for, and if they fall for those ranges, they will probably be someone who won't know how to fix it up. That just makes me sick.

The bad thing, though, is that we can't really do anything about it. If you PM the guy, he won't care, and I doubt that ebay will care either.

When I buy nerf online, I just buy things stock or NIB so I can mod it myself. It's no fun buying guns that are already modded.

This bothers me as well. The only thing that bothers me more on ebay are all the faggots that use the term "SUPER MODIFIED" and the modifications are fairly simple.

Most common: Air restrictor removal
Common: Barrel addition.

Super modified would only apply to guns that have had a lot of work done. Like My ABBB, a Nitefinder with 10 or more forms of modifcation to it or the splitech2k and many more I forgot to mention.

Ya Forsaken I agree. "super modified". They say with the AR removed and a new spring, their guns get 100 feet easy.

Yep, it ticks me off too, as an Ebay seller. I'm always honest about my ranges, and don't bother touting my modded guns as 'super' anything.

What REALLY ticks me off though are the people who say stuff like 'Most experienced Nerfer on Ebay' and such. I can't claim that title, but then who could? Makes me want to punch people through the internet. (Can we work on a way to do that?)

This ticks me off too. I also hate it when people sell stefans. I even saw some for sale that had holes oin them so they could be used in stock guns - but that's just what they said. It was just a small hole melted in the back with the glue gun, not long enough for the barrel posts.

yea I saw that they have these small stefans, with like you said, little small holes put in the backs, hardly enough to fit pegs.

This is just a small lesson for the bigger picture in life, gang.

"Caveat emptor"

Or, "let the buyer beware".

It's sad and tragic when someone discovers a way to pull a fast one on someone with a claim of something that really does sound too good to be true. For someone to claim to be the "most experienced" on eBay is also something that is relative.

They may be a Nerfing legend...in their own mind.

I follow Ronster in buying only unmodified blasters, usually from people whom through communication, I find are only cleaning out their kid's closets and figured to make a buck off some "junk toys". The three other blasters and blaster packages I picked up were NIB or NIP (new in blister pack) that again, were unmodified.

If I ever sold anything, I would do it via NerfHaven's trading section, and only through a battery of cross-checking references of potential buyers. I would be upfront as to history, repairs made, HONEST RANGES (fast becoming my Nerf pet peeve), potential problems in the future, and I'd find out whether or not their just buying to resell (my philosophy is that Nerf blasters are toys that are meant to be played with, not speculative investments to trade and pawn off. Trading for fun and to have something different is another story).

But for any experienced Nerfer, it should be 'duck soup' to recognize when someone is making a claim to a mod that really does sound too good to be true. When someone does that here, I demand that they post all details of how they do it, since they obviously found a "magic combination" that may change the way we all Nerf. Many times it's just B.S.

So...if you got ripped by someone who sold you something that didn't live up to it's expectations, ask politely for a refund. If that fails, kindly give MAJOR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK on eBay, post warnings here at the Haven, and make sure that no one else gets ripped off again. Then, suck it up and enjoy your less-than-promised modified Nerf blaster, or fix it up yourself.

It's like life. Caveat emptor.

So very true. There is one guy though(his name escapes me at the moment, commando something?) who has been selling for years - stefans, guns, etc. - never had a problem with him, so if anyone deserves that title it's him.
But ah let's just let it go and say that we can all feel better tomorrow, if you know what I'm speaking of. B)

This gun can probably do serious damage to someone's eyes, especially when used with metal tipped homemade micro darts which are often sold on Ebay.

Metal tipped stefans? Did I miss something? B)

We also added a automatic greaser which will grease the plunger after every shot, which will make the plunger move faster.

Sniff, What's that? bullshit?
