I'm going to drop by Toys 'R Us today to buy a new gun. I'm looking for a spring-powered gun with accuracy and range, and available in stores... Any suggestions?

It deppends what kind of ranges you want. I would suggest a LBB or, for a spring gun then a NF or FF. But neither of these guns get amazing ranges. I hope i could help If you have any farther questions you could PM me.

Wick I don't know why your saying the Nitefinder doesn't get good range. The Nitefinder is the best pistol thats available right now in stores. If you look through this forum theres a lot of threads that say the Nitefinder rocks. So if your going to get a gun get the Nitefinder. Plus its really cheap. Trust me I have one.

He didn't say that the Nitefinder doesn't get good range. He said it doesn't get amazing range.

Before you get all defensive and try to make someone else look like they don't know what they're talking about, you should make an active attempt to understand what they've actually written.

Try to get a BBB. The TRU by me used to have them until they closed.

Vicious-V,

Not to sound ass-ish, but get whatever it is that they have in the store. Seriously.

I've gone to TrU, Wal*Mart, K-Mart, Kay-Bee Toys, and even Sears with expectations and hopes, only to find that what I THOUGHT they'd have waiting for me, was not to be. I'd end up disappointed.

Many others have experienced that too, hence so many "where can I find a _____________(insert name of blaster); my _______(insert store name) doesn't have any!!11!" threads and discussions.

Toys'R'Us basically has (from what I recall; I haven't been to one in ages since I have to actually fly to another island to go there); Nerf, Lanard, and BuzzBee products. Here's my suggestions....

Spring powered? Hope that you find a Lanard Max Shot. Convert that sucker to shoot darts (normally comes with 2 bomb-type missles) and you can get Crossbow ranges...by just changing the barrel.

I'm not sure if it was TrU, but the Big Bad Bow is back...but it does take some skill and patience to modify. Everyone and his brother is getting them.

Old-style TechTarget sets (has a green blaster with an orange loop to cock) are another easy-to-mod, pretty good range pistol. Plus you get a nifty electronic target.

Nite Finder. Nothing more needs to be said. Even the EX-3 version, which isn't as good as the (no longer available) older versions, are good.

Crossfire. Surprisingly good for the price and size. I don't know why, but I bought one of these on impulse, and it shoots easy 40 feet out of the box. My son's sidearm.

DartTag set; if you have the money, everyone is saying good things about it. Plus you get two blasters, and those cool vests.

But don't constrain yourself to just spring power. Though I don't own one, Lanard Blast Bazookas are inexpensive and fairly easy (barrel change) to mod. I'm kind of biased toward air-powered blasters, so I look for things like (leftover) AirTech 2000s and 3000s, and (if you want to splurge), A Nerf N-Strike Unity Power System will give you three blasters, including the (arguable) power champ, the Titan.

The world is your oyster...IF, the blasters are in stock. Good luck on your quest.

Honestly, it all depends on YOUR style of play. If you like to rush alot, buy somthing with a righer ROF. If range is more important to you, then buying somthing like an LBB or Maxshot would be a good move. If you're looking for a good pistol though, not much can beat the NF.

Make sure you listen to Piney though, he basically gave you the pros and cons of each gun currently in stores.

It's not as important to listen to the people who invade these forums saying "buy this gun because I got amazing ranges out of it and its perfect!". Instead, look at the type of gun that suits you best. If you have a gun that works really well for you, then most of the time you'll beat the people with the "perfect" guns at any war.

Yes, but not necessarily YOUR store. Just go there and buy whatever suits your fancy.

Well for a while, TRU had the Rapid Fire 20. It may not be the best gun, but it was fun. Although the price was hefty for an ineffective gun.

EDIT:Actually I just got about 75' out of my non-modded NF with some rubberbands on there. And I shot a stock dart. You might want to go with that.
