Obvioulsy you put one end to the cocking lever and the other end towards the front of the gun. But when I put my bungie on my NF( the bungie end was on the right side of the cocking rod) it bent to the right and almost cracked the plunger. I want to find a way to center the bungie stress on the cocking rod. Any ideas/ways? Thanks

One on each side, I have mini bungees on mine and thats what I do.

I don't even bother with that. In my opinion, bungee/band mods are dumb and show a lack of real modding skill. Not only do they make your guns look dumb as hell, they put undue stress on many of the internal components. I just stick with thorough internal modding and try to keep the gun as asthetically pleasing as possible. I really hate altering the look of a gun as most Nerf guns are nostalgic for me and it pains me to butcher them in any way. There's my two-cents.

True, however, think of it this way; you can internally mod the gun by adding a new spring, but that adds pressure to the plunger head, since the spring is compressed between the plunger head and the backstop for the spring. However, by adding bands, you simply place more stress on the catch, since you're pusing forwards into the catch, while the spring pushes both ways. So by adding a stronger spring you end up putting more stress in one particular area, while using bands puts the stress in a different area.

Bungees make a VAST difference on my brassed NFs. Its such a big difference that the darts fishtail a little as they leave the barrel. I'm considering extending the bress to fix that. And as far as damage goes, one of my first posts was a topic I created about the longterm effects of bungees and other forms of banding. Search for it if you're interested.

For obvious reasons, I try to band a gun so that the force on the plunger is straight back so that the plunger does not bend. Either use equal amounts of bands on each side or just center the bungee. Whatever so as to not snap it off.
