The Code of Conduct and Cx's guide on the front page sum it up pretty good.
Good Luck and Welcome to NerfHaven.
Probably dead by now, or something.

Edit: Why is it that I was the only one with a member number less than 1,000 to post in this? Should I take that as a sign?

Good link, but I think you need to read the TOS among other things. You also didn't even read the TOS, but hey, those things aren't for people like you. You're illegally on this website: http://nerfhaven.com...indpost&p=62455 Good example of what not to do here.welcome and this is a good topic for new people new person guide

As for my personal advice, stick around, read what's going on to get used to the forum's style, and keep your mouth (i.e. keyboard) shut unless you have something to say. Most problems can be prevented by keeping your stupidity to yourself. If you have legitimate questions, feel free to ask, but be sure to make an effort to find the answer yourself as well. Don't only use the forum search engine, try Google, Yahoo, DMOZ, other forums, and use your brain. I get tons of common sense questions via PMs or emails at my forum and a lot of the time I am reluctant to help them.

I'm sorry if it isn't my place to say this, but something had to be done. I'm sure our great mods will get everything back into order.
Edit: Nerfmonkey kind of beat me to it. And is it just me or does Crappy nerfer get on other peoples nerves too?

Anyway, to be on topic now, I'd like to say that the only time you should flame someone is if they are less senior than yourself or they are being a total dumbass and/or asshat (*ahem*MANTIS)...
Oh yeah, dumbasses are just that, asshats are people who get stupider every post/minute/hour/day. See, they have an ass for a hat, so every 24 hrs. their brain is replaced with more shit. That's at least how I took the definition of "asshat" to be.

It is also a good idea to not be like crappy nerfer. Just to keep it on topic.

I'm still trying to stop laughing, that's a perfect definition.
I sincerely apologize to the starter of the thread for semi-instigating a big slew of garbage and destroying your thread. I've really got nothing to contribute, other than good luck. I just wanted to say I'm sorry.
What did you do wrong? Nothing. crappy nerfer started it, so don't feel bad. And yes, he has his bitch at other members priviledges revoked.
This was his second warning.
Well, anyway nothing further to contribute to the thread, except DON'T ACT LIKE HIM.
Probably dead by now, or something.

Account Suspension NotificationI could say the same about your post too...
Crappy Nerfer,
Your member account at NerfHaven has been temporarily suspended. You are the sort of person I grow fonder of every day that I don't have to read your boorish and utterly meaningless drivel.
Your account will not be functional until Aug 11 2033, 03:51 PM (depending on your timezone). This is an automated process and you do not need to do anything to expediate the unsuspension process.

Woah, I thought that privilege was figurative, not something you could actually lose. What did you do wrong? Nothing. crappy nerfer started it, so don't feel bad. And yes, he has his bitch at other members priviledges revoked.

Anyway, it might seem stupid for me to be giving any advice whatsoever but a good thing to do, is just start scanning older topics. You'll gain a large amount of gun knowledge quickly, and it'll be easier to give valid input on different matters.

Regarding the 'bitch at other members privelege', I can almost always be taken quite literally when I'm describing a new rule to someone who pisses me off. Once it became a big enough issue that I had to mention it, it was no longer figurative.

GP - What does join date have to do with seniority? Sure a little, but I think seniority should be based on contributions, good grammar, respectfulness, etc. By no means am I saying you don't show these qualities, because you do, but I am just saying that there are plenty of active members that joined in 03 and prior that probably deserve less respect than some that joined in 05.Edit: Why is it that I was the only one with a member number less than 1,000 to post in this? Should I take that as a sign?
Good call Cx - chalk up another one.

Good thing to know that I have one instance of a great definition. I bet that will become someone's sig...asshats are people who get stupider every post/minute/hour/day. If cx gives advice, it is good advice. He tells you to go run off a cliff, generally you should run off a cliff. I don't think he's told anyone to do that yet, however...
Edit: I didn't hit refresh, so I have to respond to Rambo.
Exactly, good example being Carbon. He has contributed so much in the short two months he was here. I see myself as an leutenant when I read his posts and see his contributions.

You called that one! It's definitely added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole.
What does join date have to do with seniority?
I agree. I'm probably not one of those people, but I know I've seen some newer members who deserve a little respect.
Regarding crappy nerfer:
-Whack-
Can I have his watch?
EDIT: To add some on-topic information, pursuing all of the pinned threads is a good idea (Cx sugests this on the Front page), I have learned alot from them.

The PM system is a good thing to be familiar with. If you have to say something to just one person which isn't pertanent to any topic on the left list on the homepage, just PM them. I think I've finally realized how important the PM system was just in the past couple of weeks. Well, learn from me, use it first. That and its fun to scare the crap out of them when they see that they have new messages...

I really don't get why so many members here enshrine join date like they do. So what if you joined 4 years ago, all that says is that you joined 4 years ago. That doesn't automatically imply that the member is of godly status. Someone could be hot-off-the-press new and display better quality posting habits, better experience with online forums, even contribute more than one of old. NH is the only forum I have ever seen [I've seen plenty] which holds such meaningless dates in such high regard. Names should speak for themselves, posts should speak for themselves. Numbers only feed the ego and you could argue that anything feeding the ego also feeds the veteran-n00b relationship problems experienced here and rarely elsewhere.
Felt like getting that out. We should really let this topic fade away, and yes I know my post didn't help that, but someone has to say it-otherwise it never happens.
