No, seriously. Why the hatred? I Just don't get it. It's like....uh...it's like...

Well, I used all my bad, oppressive, racist, sexist, offensive, dirty, or otherwise good analogies yesterday at work, so i'm clean out.

But you know what I mean. I just want to hear from members on WHY they hate/dislike/disdain paintball, just so it's on the record.

It's not so much a hatred of paintball or airsoft. It's the fact that people make comparisons between those two games and Nerfing. Nerfing is completely different because of different ranges, different rates of fire and different ammo capacities. So when people claim that paintballing is better because you can hit people from longer ranges, they don't understand that half the fun of nerfing is that you need skill to judge how fast your darts shoot, how far they shoot, at what angle they should be shot, and all this must be used accordingly with the gun's rate of fire or ammo capacity. It forces you to have different skills than in paintball or airsoft. Some would say that it takes more skill. But that's my bias coming out.

Most members here don't hate or dislike paintball. Most members here either play paintball now or have done so in the past.

Paintballers on the other hand, are the target of quite a lot of hatred here due to a large number of troll experiences spawned from various paintball forums.

Personally, I feel that the current state of paintball technology detracts from its fun as a sport for me. I don't hate it, I just do something different. Stock class looks fun though.

People try to compare the three sports when in reality they should all be kept seperate. They are three totally different games. NERF is more easy going, closer ranges and just about running around and shooting foam at your friends. Paintball is more based around CTF and things of that nature with guns that shoot 24837492835 balls a second. From my expearience it is also mostly a team of loners and not a whole lot of team tactics. Airsoft is highly based on team tactics and usually centered around more realistic simulations ( Not CTF, slayer, free-for-all ). It's also not just dressing up and playing soldier asmost people make it out to be.

As already stated, we dont hate the other sports, hell most of of us play more than one. It's just a lot of us prefer one over the other. We do however hate the airsoft/paintball trolls that have no life and waste tons of time to sign up for the boards and post stupid flames about how NERF is "gay" or how we "are a bunch of fags". The truth is they know absolutely nothing about NERF and dont understand a majority of the NERFing population is under the age of 16. As such many of these people cant afford the hundreds of dollars it takes to outfit yourself in airsoft or paintball.

What they've said is entirely true. A lot of the forum members here do play paintball.

I do myself. Just not nearly as often as I nerf.

Because I'm poor as hell, granted, but the fact remains.

And Cx, you're absolutely right. Stock class is fun. I play with a phantom pumper when I go with my friends. They like speedball. I still play with my phantom...

In short, we don't hate the sport. We just don't like it when people bring up the famous last words "Why don't you guys just play paintball?"

They are nowhere near the same. That's like asking a Golfer "Why don't you just play Frisbee golf?" They are not one in the same, and they aren't interchangeable. If you try to run around and rush people like you do in Nerf at a paintball park...
