After I read a lot of articles and such about how Nerf sharpshooters usually need to find a good losing spot where they can't be flanked. Now what I came up with was a turtle shell style armor. What you do is just measure the height from the ground to the heel of your shoe (point your feet up while lying prone). Then measure your own height. Then act as if your holding a gun while lying prone and measure from the ground to the top of your head (I added two inches to the height for head room). Then measure from your width (left to right). After you get your measurements get cardboard. Cut the cardboard(tailored to your measurements). After you have the cut cardboard tape it together so that you have like a shield on top of your body. Then after you have the top cut out sides that go with the angles of your top. My top had 21 inches (ground to head), 67 inches(my height), and 13 inches(ground to heel). The angle I got that was at my heel was 98 degrees (you should get a slope from your head to your feet because your feet tend to be shorter than when your elbows are on the ground holding a Nerf gun.). Now I know the idea is crappy but I try. I have pics but I can't seem to get them to attach on the body of my post. Also I forgot that you can attach some straps or just use duct tape so you can up and run if all else fails. But I do not advise it (DONT DO IT). Because you won't hav enough room to pull up your feet as you run because this armor goes from head to toe.

The reason why someone would need Nerf Armor is still beyond me. I just don't see the point in it. This is besides the fact that judging by your description, your mobility would be pure shit. However, you did mention that this idea is crappy and mobility is reduced, so I will give you some credit. But at the same time, if you admit its crappy why even post it?

Alternatively, one could just learn to hide. Wow, what a revalation!

Anything under steel plate (less than 3/32") would get blown to bits if I were shooting at it. I'm not kidding. If someone were to bring that to my field, I would say screw the reg and FBR and shoot a PVC rocket through it, just to teach the poor sap within it that they were being a dumbass. I even have a backup plan if they continue: sneak up to it (I am quieter than a cat) and throw a handful of lit BlackCats in there through the hole made by the PVC rocket. Third offense would get the whole wasp's nest in there. Make something like this or maybe this, even this would work, if you're afraid of getting shot. Otherwise, it'd be a bullet magnet. Alternatively, buy a golf cart. That is the only thing I am short of, unfortunetly they don't make any which would power its way through my field. Yamaha makes the Rhino, which costs less than the superior Ranger by Polaris. That's about it. Those are bloody expensive. Mmm...tank...

Well I had just received the idea when i was on a camping trip to Fort Knoxx and I thought that someone might actually do it. On the mobility thing if you don't strap it to yourself you can leave it or hold the shell with 1 hand and whip out your secondary with the other.

I hope you're kidding, because with any air cannon that doesn't suck, you would at least maim, maybe kill them.

Armor is pretty useless, because...come on! If armor hits don't coun't, then it's unsportsmanlike to use it. If you do count hits on the armor, then what's the point? To prevent pain? It's nerf!

I was kidding. I'd probably do the firecracker thing though...and the wasp thing...

PVC rockets are devastating on anything made of any material. I shot one to demonstrate a cannon's ability one and it took off most of a tree limb when I forgot one of the basic rules of shooting: look above before the shot...
It made the endcap split into several pieces as well...

Nerf shields, too me, are okay. Shields offer me a chance to block darts and then swing someone with my foam baton. H2H combat rules indoors. And shields are fun for blocking and shooting/swinging of deadly foam objects. But if you can't take a hit, it's not sad, just looked down upon.

Let me correct that. If you can't take a hit from a modified Nerf Gun you need to revaluate your life. I am being completely serious. I will make exeptions for brass bareled sm5000s and some of the Titan mods I've seen, but other than that you have problems.

The only "armor" which should ever be allowed to act as such in a Nerf War is the only piece of armor Nerf ever designed: the Manta Ray. Anything else is to be considered no better than any other article of clothing; if it takes a hit, it counts.

What about the new crossfire shields? Do those count? I was going to allow them in my skirmishes as a shield, but then again I'm the only one that has one. I might have it just sitting out there as something for people to grab though and use to block.

Actually, I completely forgot about these. I'd have to say that they, too, count as shields in a Nerf War-- simply because they are Nerf branded and sold with the express purpose of acting as a shield.

I'll discuss this with some of the others in the Jersey crew, but I'd say they're a go.
