Has anyone seen this new package? It's a crossfire, strap-on shield, bundled with a Nitefinder (though the box labels it as a "Firestrike," it IS a nitefinder).

I'm posting this because this bundle costs the same as a standard crossfire box. So, if you, like me, have been holding off on buying a crossfire, pick this sucker up! You get a free nitefinder. Plus, you can get a RED nitefinder....

Found these at my local Wal-Mart in southern Pennsylvania. Their price was under $10 ($9.86 or something), so I picked up two of each color. I have no idea whether or not these are a wal-mart exclusive, limited edition, or what.

Happy nerfing!Posted Image

Edit: And here I thought I was posting something newsworthy. I didn't even know about the bonus blasters with the big Dart Tag set. But a quick search on eBay turned them up. heh. I'll try to overreact less when I see a new product in the future. Sorry about that.

I also picked one up a little while ago just because of the price. Good guns.

I know where I am getting my second crossfire.

Edit: First the NF was taken from its series to the N-strike series, and then to the dart tag series. What's next? Will they take the AT2K from its series and re-do its paintjob and stuff?

Oh yes. Adding bonus FREE toys to their existing packages does have a hint of evil behind it.

Is evil the thing that Santa and Easter Bunny are? Oh wait...that's "good". I guess RAMBO and I are mixing those two words up again. How silly.

Wait...santa and the easter buny aren't real....I mean evil? Yeah, like I said, whats next? A 2K and a free NF? If they add a free NF to all the guns, we will be swimming in them.

I've seen them a TRU and target so I am pretty sure they are not a wal-mart exclusive. The only thing is that they are cheaper a wla-mart.

Cool. Now I can get a NF without it being one of those stupid green ones (that's all my TRU sells now) when I get my next crossfire. Are they all red, or does a blue one come with the blue CF?

Also, someone mentioned that there were free NF's with the DTG pack, is there a blue one and a red one? just curious.

Probably dead by now, or something.

They have blue and red nf that come with the crossfire. With the DTG set it comes with one red and one blue.

cool. and then their's also that rail that you can use that pops out of the crossfire...but thats another topic. i'd like a red NF any way. I found an old thread on NHQ that had these and aparently walmart recalled them at the time, according to bags.

yeah, the green NF sucks so badly. my 6yr old neighbor got one, and the darts didn't leave the barrel. 9/10 shots move, let alone leave the barrel. the restrictors made the difference, as the plunger moved forward about an inch, then slowed to a crawl and eventually returned to its ready position.

Nice, now I can war John Wu style, and on a budget. I wonder if Hasbro has left over NFs that never left the warehouse and is too old to sell? According to the scope mod, does this mean that you can connect the two guns atop each other and have some weird pistol? It doesn't matter what color it is, a NF is still an NF in the inside, when you mod it.

How could NFs become too old to sell? Did the darts get crusty?

If it's still 10 dollars then thats a really good deal. You get a crossfire and a NF for 5 bucks a peice. That's a steal.

At the risk of being silly...

Yes. Yes you can. ^_^ You can even cock them while they're still connected. Of course, there's a cartoon floating around somewhere that summarizes a common opinion about such things, but still...

And to answer a previous question: Yes, a blue Nitefinder comes with the blue Crossfire/shield set.

Rotaryfan, I'd like to suggest that you give your green NF another chance. I have a modded green NF, and it works great. I did an air restrictor removal, PVC barrel replacement with a crayola barrel, stretched the spring, and while it fires awfully loud, it fires very well. I did have to use quite a bit of electrical tape to seal it, though.

I've taken apart the classic NF, the Green NF, and both the red and blue "Firestrike" NFs, and they all have identical internals. There's an older NF, Oompa mentioned to me, that I wouldn't know about.

The only real difference between the old NF and the later editions is that the originals have larger screws holding it together and lack the top mounted N-Strike rail and had a stronger spring. I think the newer editions also had a small change in the air restrictor set up but nothing worth worrying about.
