I have a knack for finding friends with nerf guns(most of the time not working). I talked to a friend who I thought would have some old nerf guns and was right he had a Wildfire. He gave it to me as he had no use for it anymore. When I recieved it it could not pump and no pressure was being made at all. I went home to open it up (I loved the fact it had bigger screws then the new nerf guns), and checked the pump handle and arm. I saw that the o-ring was still on it but it seemed too small and it had two other plastic rings on it I guess to catch escaping air. I decided it probably wasn't the pump handle unless it was missing washers. I then inspected the pump tube itself and could not find any crack in it whatsoever. I followed the way the air travels to the air tubes to the bladder and saw absolutly nothing of any difference. My question is, are there any suggestions to why its not pumping air at all?

I had the same problem with my WF once I pulled it out of storage. What ended up fixing mine was the rubber at the front of the bladder (where the air comes in) wasn't connected right. I had to re-do that whole area. Also, check to see if the overflow button at the back of the bladder is stuck.

(Off topic) Wow, I'm really here on the graveyard shift. It's just me and Googlebot.

(On topic) You said the o-ring seemed small? What likely happened was that the o-ring dried out and it can't force air into the bladder now. Thus you pump and it goes freely, but with no resistance, right?

The same thing happened to my RF20 after I took it out of storage. I had to pump like a madman in order to prime it a little bit. Because I pumped so fast, the friction heat expanded the o-ring and I was able to pump it again. I concluded my diagnostics by putting a bit of water into the pump shaft. Immediately, my pump worked, so I know it was a dry o-ring.

Solution? Go to a hardware store (ACE, Home Depot, Menards, Lowe's, etc.) and pick up a new o-ring and some silicone spray. Replace your o-ring and lubricate with the silicone. This should stay effective for quite some time.

No, I haven't actually done this with my RF20. Why? I never was a huge fan of the gun, and I didn't think it was worth my effort. Maybe I will come around to doing so if I ever get a big war going...This method will work though; it's the foremost option I would try doing. The RF20 and the WF are essential the same gun. If, for any reason, it doesn't, some tinkering around with the pump will help you. That's how I performed my diagnostics. Let me know how this turns out via post or PM. I'm interested to see what happens. It might just inspire me to breathe new life into my gun...Hope that was a help, good luck!

Thank you both it worked, it can pump slowly at first but getting better each time. I just need to add some lube to the equation and it'll 100% again.
