I was thinking that it would be possible to mod an airsoft gun or paintball gun, most preferably a Co2 type, into a nerf gun. Has anyone ever done this? If so, send pictures because I have dreamed to do this for a while. maybe we can come up with a plan to do so...

It has been done and this thread has been made many times. It can work with paintball markers, but it does not work with airsoft guns. Think about it, the air needed to push a small lightweight plstic BB is far less than the air needed to move a much larger stefan.

I also wanted to add... that I've tried this, with almost the same marker as used by Yakman. Let me put it this way: unneccesary and waste of money when it comes to darts. If you want to get a good kick out of something, go and try it, but it's really impractical for nerfing for a couple of reasons.

1) CO2 becomes expensive (I'm not talking about nerf expensive, I mean expensive in the real world)
2)It's so powerful that the darts destroy themselves after one or two shots.
3)If someone got hit with this and the dart was intact... well it would be like getting hit with a plastic-coated steel weight at paintball velocities. Which is exactly what a stefan is...
4)Those cheap paintball markers have no way to change the air regulation, and the method used to release air from the canister is very primitive. This means that there is never any consistency between shots, AND you waste a ton of CO2 in the process.
5) So let's say you bought a really good paintball marker, and avoided the problems of #4... well now you just spent a ton of money on a product that is only going to shoot a stefan marginally farther. There is a limit to how far these things can be flung... and I think those limits are called physics.

But, it was totally fun to see foam fly that far and fast!

Also, there's a website that was dedicated to turning a cheap paintball marker into an airsoft s n i p e r rifle (there are these types in airsoft). He goes a little more in depth about the problems with these cheap markers.

Unconventional Airsoft - Gas Gun

I also made a variation on this beast... if anybody wants more info, PM me... this is a nerf forum, after all!

Feel free to search for yourself dipshit. I have my eye on you.

Carry on. I think it's a bad idea and that you'll kill someone. If you brought a paintball gun to my war I'd take four things into consideration. Damage inflicted, which I'd test on you by shooting you in the head from five yards away and gauge the damage done. If you don't want to be shot from five yards away in the head, then no one else does and it goes into your bag for the day. Noise. If the thing sounds like a fucking gun shot then it's going to interfere with my players and my useage of the park. Gun shots and marker pops are loud enough to alert the police, which could in turn have us ejected from the play area. Distance. If your gun shoots over 100 feet, it's dangerous and takes away from the fun of the guys who like to use pistols. I want to make sure a guy using two Nitefinders will have a fair advantage. Danger. Frankly, if you had a CO2 gun, I would not give you the benefit of the doubt of not being a shit head and properly maintaining your gun. If you did some crazy shit mod how do I know that it won't fly apart? It's fine for a regular nerf blaster because the pressure exerted wouldn't be nearly enough to seriously harm someone. However if your Talon explodes, someone's going to the hospital. Lastly, which I really won't count because it's not a general rule that everyone can follow, is how much I respect you. If OMC showed up with one of those things, I'd be much more willing to take a look at it and consider allowing him to use it. But if some 14 year old kid I never met showed up for the first time and he doesn't have another player, whom I respect, vouching for him, I wouldn't even consider it. You just wouldn't be aloud to use it, no questions asked. If you had a problem with these rules, you wouldn't have to stay. If you insisted on using it, you could leave. If you wouldn't leave...well...I won't say what my response to this would be for my own legal protection.

Have a nice day,
Talio.

I've made a few, its best to use a really long barrel to reduce the velocity significantly.
