The problem with thest types of questions is that we don't know what kind of Nerfer you are. You can't just say "should I use this gun or this one?" It's like asking which gun is better, and I can't tell you that.

If you're looking for personal opinions, I love 3ks, and the only ones I've ever warred with were crappy Crayola barreled ones. Ask Cx, he's been using the same one for, what, 3 years now? It's a great gun, it just depends on what you want in a gun.

I think all this talk about what kind of nerfer you are is total crap. A good gun is a good gun, no matter who you are.

I single barreled my at3k, its not too hard to do.

1. open the gun (i had glue stuck to the frame and bad screws so this took awhile)

2. drain liquitron thing (unscrew, pour out, screw back in)

3. remove the rotating barrel turret (i ended up just tearing it right off)

4. totally ignore the mechanism for rotating the barrel turret

5. take a CPVC coupler and affix it around the air hole, then reinforce it somehow (you now have an easy way to reload with removable barrels filled with whatever you want)

6. plug the pump (this is difficult on an at3k and i don't know why. I put hot glue on what I thought was the air pressure release thing but it doesn't work)
I am currently in the process of using a pump from a different nerf gun; it should work out well. In either case, even with a bad pump I still get awesome power and can bruise the rib cage at close range. At further ranges it can cause immense stinging sensation in the buttocks for a couple minutes. There is no danger in pumping my at3k 45 times because of the leak, however around 10 pumps is when I reach max air pressure. I know this is bad, but i am hopeful that my new pump will alleviate this problem, I believe it came from a hornet.

I believe that the at2k is a better buy because it is just as powerful as the at3k but is easier to mod, smaller, and cheaper. The best use for the air tech series is to make it into a shotgun with removable barrels already filled with stefans. This is so because of the enormous potential power with a pump gun as opposed to a spring/plunger gun. In addition, pump guns tend to release air unevenly, causing the projectile to veer off in a random direction. It is much easier to use a separate gun for losing/single shots, in addition to the fact that they are much easier to cock and reload.

Also, if anyone knows about using the DT3 spring in a BBB or something like that please tell me about it.

The Surefire X2 "Compound" Bow is a lot of fun and gets good range, to mod it, I believe replacing the "power cords" and "guiding cord" would be the best and easiest way to increase its power. I am at a loss for ammo though. I canot find any refill packs for the bow in America and will not make my own arrows. if you are familiar with this item I would love some info on it (it's made by monkey business sports)

P.S. I hear people around here hating on CPVC, but I think it is the best barrel material to use. It is not only cheap, light, useful, perfect size, but also fun to play with, and easy to cut. It is the only barrel material my friends and myself use on our guns.

Well, my vote's a dumbass answer. I misread and thought it said SM3k Blue/Yellow, in which case I replied a no way Jose. No me gusta el SuperMaxxo 3000 por que es muy mal. (It sucks, so I don't like it).

As far as real topic goes, you should really mod that sucka. I wouldn't necessarily mod it single barreled though. I know PETG is hard to come by, but that's my recommendation for 6 barrels. Anyway you look at it, this gun rocks, yet is often underrated.

The AT3k is the best Nerf gun ever made. Period.

I have 16 of them. Two modded and used every war, 14 spares.

As you can see, I have plenty of guns to pick from but I always use my 3k.

16...that would explain your sudden exclamation of "It's the WRONG 3K!!!" After round 1 of YANO...I'd get confused too.

I would highly suggest you NOT single barrel it. The 2k has a far larger pump shaft, and gets far greater success single barreled than the 3k. The ida of a singled 3k probably came because it has a longer piece of ninyl tubing as aitrank material. That'll take more pumps to fill it, and with a less efficient pump than the 2k's, it'll take far longer to pump than a 2k. But Cx is right, it is a kick ass gun.

Granted, the "best gun ever" is a statement of opinion, but hey, we're all biased, right?

I recently saw a friend of mine's singled AT3K. It was cool and extremely powerful, but it took somewhere around 30 pumps to prime it, and I’m not sure how much more powerful it was than a singled AT2K. If you want a single shot pump gun use an AT2K, it's smaller, takes less time to prime, and easier to do than singling an AT3K.

I wa just wondering do you want to mod a at3k or a sm3k? Because your title says "at3k blue 'n yellow" the at3k is not blue and yellow rather silver and blue.

30 pumps? I highly doubt that. If the OPR Valve is pugged you really shouldn't go above 4 or 5 pumps, and if it's left open it starts releasing air after about 3.

Anyway, I think the AT3K is a great gun when modified. But be sure to keep all 6 barrels.

I disagree, Different nerfers mod guns in different was because of how they nerf. I don't know too much about at3k's but some people may want more range/accuracy/power so they may mod the gun with a single barrel(I don't know if a single barrel on a at3k gets better ranges, im just guessing). Some people might want a good ROF so they may mod the gun with more barrels. Also, you can't really say "a good gun is a good gun, no matter who you are", because someone could really be a bad nerfer and be using the best gun with the best mods and still suck, whereas on the other hand I could be using an NF with no mods and I could still kill him (possible not probible). So really in my opinion it does matter what kind of nerfer you are.

I think the OPR valve was plugged, but I’m not positive. He also drained the Liquitron gauge, so that may have something to do with it. It may have been closer to 25, but it was still quite high. I’ll talk to him tomorrow and get more details. Also definitely keep all six barrels. I’d say a singled barreled gets around 90-95 feet, and a six barreled gets around 80 feet and has five more shots.

Either the pump was broken or the tank was leaking. I pump 4 times max.

Also, to clarify Falcon's post, the 2k has a longer and narrower pump tube. As such, it's easier to get the 2k up to a slightly higher pressure, but the number of times you actually pump it is similar to the 3k. Functionally I'd say they're both about the same when single barreled.

Just occurred to me...

It's probably faster to pump because the pump is SO much easier to use...

Can't stand 3k pump handles...but to each his own.

I put a foregrip on my AT3k from an old AT2k case I had lying around (I'm sure you all have at least one or two as well). That makes it a heck of a lot easier to pump, and more comfortable to aim. Listen to anyone who says: NEVER SINGLE BARREL AN AT3K.

Exceptions include ones with broken turrets.
