I'm not sure if i posted this in the right spot but any way i was just wondering what materials you use to build a clip other than wood? Would cardboard hold or something.

What's wrong with wood?
Cardboard COULD work, but it's probably not the most durable.
I've made a hopper out of sheet metal. That's probably my favorite material for such things.

This is the beauty of Nerf crafting...there is no 'right' answer.
There may be some things that are more effective than others; for example, I could probably make a clip out of lasagna noodles (uncooked, of course), but there are durability factors, critters eating my mag, etc., so it probably isn't a great material to work with.
Look at the variety of things people used to carry and load ammunition into their foam shooters;
PVC, wood, cardboard, coat hanger wire, tape cases (cassette, video, etc.), M & Ms mini containers (remember 3DBBQ?), sheet styrene, plexiglas, metal strips, 2 liter drink bottles (?!)...
See? The joy of it is to EXPERIMENT in your shop and play and tweak...I don't even want to list what I've tried (and failed) in making in my shop. No, not noodles.
You don't have to get endorsements/ permission/ approval from the community to get out and try stuff out. It's what makes modifying so much fun. Personally, I'm gravitating toward tape cases.

Ok i see what you mean and the prooblem with wood is all the sanding that has to be done to get a dart in there.

Just make a small box out of balsa. It works well, and looks neat. And it is also very easy to make with a hobby knife.

I use cassette tape casing for all my clips. They fit micros well and with minor adjuments, fit megas.
