This is a variation of the original R-clip. All it really is is an R-Clip with a different magazine. This particular model uses 1/2 PVC to feed the darts into the barrel. It is made of a 45 degree coupler that has been dremeled to let the darts slide right into the chamber. For this clip to work properly without any jams, it needs to use darts no longer than 1''. This allows for many darts in each PVC magazine, but may sacrifice some range for the RoF it will fix. These cheaply produced magazines are just a section of PVC with an endcap on the end. This allows for the user to carry multiple magazines on his gun, or in his pocket. Langley used a wristband that held extra PVC barrels, so this same concept could be used to hold spare magazines. This design is the first in production, so therefore was the prototype and is rather "sloppy".

I first made this around 2-3 months ago. But discussed it with a clanmate whothen sent me pictures of his exact same clip that he made back in July. Great minds think alike, eh? But, I'll put it in the R-clip line anyway. This clip works the same as the original R-clip and could also be converted to "Bolt Action" but cutting a slot for a bolt attatched to the brass which moved forward then back to make the seal.

(The DS was merely used to hold the clip up for the picture, it's not attatched to the clip in anyway.:()

The magazine does not need to be completly vertical, I use it tilted to the side to provide a clear line of sight down the barrel

Quite interesting. Since I have been gone for awhile, I think I missed the original R-clip. If a long coil spring were used with the right follower, those PVC mags could be placed under the barrel to allow for a standard placement of magazines. The problem here for anyone but someone who works at a spring steel store or me is finding a spring. An exnonential spring would work great, that way it would have enough pressure when fully compressed to feed the first few darts then get weaker as each dart is fed, removing the possibility of "squished dart syndrome." I think I might see if I can find a 1" Y-fitting when I go shopping at Lowes Wednesday. That is, if you will let me, Renegade.

Yeah, I thought alot about using a spring inside the 1/2 PVC. I believe that it is possible and would encourage others to accept the challenge to build one. I've already finished the magazine of the R-Clip v3, so I have some time before I stumble upon a new magazine for a 4th R-Clip. I'm also working on a magazine using a coil spring, which is basicaly a very mini FAR magazine, minus the shells. It'd be very handy having small spring fed PVC tubes to reload. Wouldn't take up much space, and easy to holster on a belt/gun.Perhaps taking a long this airsoft-like spring and stretching it to fit the PVC? The hard part like you said is finding the right spring.

I might be able to find a spring, it would take a few hours of searching an inventory though. That is what I don't really want to do. I'll search when I have the time, then go through the manufacturer to see how much it would cost per unit and per 144 units. Even still, what about the follower? This piece would have to be right in order not to let itself or the spring enter the breach on the last shot. If it were bright orange, holes every inch could be placed on the mag to see how full the mag is.

How much would this be affected by, say, threaded Y with an adapter (1" thread to 1/2" slip, yes they do make 'em)? That would increase the distance between the end of the mag and the bottom of the barrel by about an inch, maybe a little more or less. The new opening would be about an inch in diameter, so there would be a 1"x1" cylinder of space between the mag and barrel. Would that keep me from having to modify the Y-fitting?

I'm telling you guys, just basic wire when bent enough makes an adequate spring. I have them in all my clips and they're still holding up just fine. You really don't need a coil spring, it just makes it more complicated.

Whenever I bend wire for a spring, it stays pushed down along with the darts. This is the right wire since it's coiled up when bought like yours, but it just doesn't work for me. Any remedy for this problem?

To the below post:

You have a picture in your clip write-up that shows 22(maybe .22 or something, it's a little fuzzy) gauge wire. So, I may try that. I'm not sure what gauge wire I used, so can't compare until I get some of "your" wire.

I have a considerable amount of twists in mine; I'll try to find the wire I used and get you the gauge tomorrow.

Intresting clip system. It'd be nice if you could make them larger than single file but I can't think of a way that wouldn't be prone to jaming.

What do you think about having the copper pipe about 3/5 cut open for back 2 inches or so so the stefans drop onto the 2/5 of the copper pipe and you don't have to worry about the pipe sliding under the stefan. Use something like a bolt system to keep the copper pipe oriented the right direction. Sliding over the stefan shouldn't be as hard since the top of the stefan is in contact with an angled stefan instead of a pipe which meshes with it.

Clip max length wouldn't be so bad if it ran parallel with the max length of the gun.

What about air pressure loaded?
