I'm new to this so please be kind. I have a gun from 1994. It is called the Supermaxx 1000. It was made by the makers of the Super Soaker, Larami. I know know that they were bought out by Hasbro for there Nerf guns. I also know that these guns were taken off the market soon after they were released. I'm woundering if anyone knows more about these guns? Are there any mods that anyone has herd of? Does anyone know a good place to get somemore ammo for them? (uses Larami Darts by the way). And what is the general opinion of these guns?

--Thanks to all

There are tonnes of mods for the SuperMaXX line, just search around.

The general thoughts about that line is that it kicks ass. The blasters were made well, and they're now pretty rare.

The Larami darts are long gone, but there have been a few people who have sold them from time to time on the trading forums.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

I have found a few mods for several types of Supermaxx guns but they are usually the 1500. I just havnt found anything on the 1000. Thats what im looking for. Im hoping to have a photo up sometime soon.

When it comes to ammo i think im just going to have to make my own. But from what ive read that usually is the better ammo anyway. Should be interesting.

Here is a pretty damn sweet SM1000 mod. I don't think it's actually a write-up, but you could use it as an example of what to do.

I'm pretty sure it is highly advisable to keep the rotating cylinder if it's there. Starubuck's sm1k was missing a bunch of parts when he bought it.

EDIT: Also, you can still get the pink and green larami darts from the nerf order form.

Yeah, I had half a gun. I was missing pretty much everything.

I would only do my mod if your cylinder was broken or parts were missing.

Anyway... yeah, you can order the darts from Hasbro or make your own Laramis. But, if you actually plan on using the SM1k in a war, I'd suggest modding the gun to fire micros. That is, if you don't care to mod one of the more rare guns.

Thanks a bunch everyone. I dont think im going to go into that extreme of modding especially since the gun is in perfect working order. I did go in and fill in the pressure overflow on the pump, plus started to make my own darts. After only making maybe a dozen ive been really happy with the result. Now only have to work on tweaking them a little here and there to fly farther and strater.

I really love the gun and am so glad i have held on to it this long. I also love the fact that not too many people are going to know what it is, at least till i start picking them off left and right.
