Can someone explain to me what a crayola barrel does? In what guns would you use it( IE spring, air)? How do you do the mod? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

A crayola barrel is a barrel that is taken from a marker, by removing the tip and back of it. I use one in my nite finder, and I've only heard of it being used it spring guns, mostly pistols.

I like using crayola barrels becuase, if you clear out the fins inside the marker you can use either the smaller side or the larger side. I prefer the small side for pump guns and the larger side for spring guns.

They're a great, cheap barrel. They work great when used correctly. However, I prefer brass. That's probably because I'm a perfectionist. Plus, I suck at making them.

Ok I understand how you make them but do you just use the crayola or do you nest it, etc.

A crayola is a barrel. So do you replace the stock barrel with the crayola and thats it or are you supposed to nest it in something?

It depends on the gun, and what you want to do. For example, on an AT2k, when you pull off the turret, the air tank has a nub on it that fits a Crayola perfectly. You can use it that way, or you can make a longer barrel by sliding some 1/2" PVC over the Crayola.

I use crayolas on virtually all of my guns (with the exception of a CPVCed AT2k that sucks major ass). Even my air guns, AT2k & SM1500 have crayolas. I also nest them all in 1/2" PVC, for barrel length, as Carbon said. I haven't tried brass ever, because I'm perfectly pleased with the results I get from crayola/PVC.

To sum it up, it's a cheap barrel and when it's combined, it can really kick good booch.

I have a single CPVC'd AT2K, it gets better ranges than when I had it with PVC and a crayola barrel. I'm not sure about accuracy though...

Okay now I understand. But I have 1 more question, how long do you make the crayolas? I know it depends so lets say I want to nest it in PVC?

I've always used them full length, with the inner "fins" intact....they hold the dart nicely.
