I was thinking of making a proper .177 air rifle/bb gun or whatever you want to call it and have come to a problem.

I know what my basic design will be and how it will fire but how can i load the ammo in and make it semi-auto. Ie. i got a valve that will be semi-auto but how will the ammo load after each shot. I was thinking of having it like a revolver but how can i make it turn the barel to align up a new pellet? Or could i just have a mag so after each shot it just advances into the barel? (or do i need to but it in shells)

I very much doubt that you have the ability to make an air rifle (I know I don't have the skill, and I'm willing to stake a claim that even Boltsniper wouldn't make one). Let alone a semi-auto one. Getting barrels for those things isn't as easy as getting pvc at the local hardware store.

But to try to answer your question, the semi-auto air guns I've seen had revolver-style loading. I'd imagine that a advancing clip (think sawtooth) would work also. You would need to do something like on the maverick, with angled slides to advance the revolver, or a geared mechanisim in order to get it to allign. Using your "design," you would need a bolt, possibly with some kind of blow-back.

But again, it is not going to be anywhere near as easy as anything in nerf. You can't miss the allignment by anything (and by anything I mean .00#'s of an inch), or else it will not work and possibly will be dangerous. I would not recomend anything like this unless you are a gunsmith, and if you are I doubt your skill because a gunsmith wouldn't be asking these questions.

Air rifle that shoots pellets =/= Nerf.

I'd suggest you try and find help somewhere else. You will find that most of our members will have very little interest in your design. Try doing a Google search to see what resources outside of Nerfhaven can help you.

I thought that was the idea of OFF TOPIC? talk about things that were unrealated to nerf. ps2 network cards/computer stuff/military/ pictures of animals there all topics ive seen on here and none of them are to do with nerf?

Anyway as i said i wont discusss this anymore. Maybe "The Infinite Shindig" might be able to close the topic or something?
