You may have already noticed but I have gotten rid of the frames for now. I also reduced the size of the website for those of you with lower resolutions. The site has had over 2500 hits so far. More than I ever expected. I am still updating the Q and A page so keep asking questions through that medium. I have added the BS-8 to the list. I am constantly adding content and will be working on a page for the SCAR. I am also contemplating a page for just videos. How would you guys feel about some higher res videos? Maybe on the order of 15-30Mb's. So far I have been posting low res videos of 1-2MB which are great for downloads.

Also, did anybody actually like the frames? I still haev that version of the site and could post both with a splash screen for entry. I liked the way the frames looked but the space they took up and the issues with seraching etc overpowered the asthetic appearance.

This thread is old but it's better than starting a new one

Ya frames are annoying. Thanks for changing them! If I were you I would compress the background image since I have to wait for about 5 seconds for it to load before I can do anything. Higher res might be good for some people who want to see them better, but make sure to keep the small ones for dial up users and people who are just browsing.

I thought the quality was alright for the content of the videos you had. I'd love to see some videos demonstrating range, accuracy, and ROF at once.

For those who noticed the site was down for a while. I pulled the entire site to do some housekeeping and fix a few things. I have switched to a linux server. Not sure why I was using windows hosting in the first place... I have changed the index page a little bit and have ompressed the images to a more reasonable size for all connections. I will continue to update the site with content for the SCAR-N. I am thinking about adding some content involving stefan theory and homemade concepts. I am also kicking around the idea of replacing the Q and A page with a forum to better manage the questions and such. Any thoughts on that?

I saw a thread a while ago where you were kicking around the idea of a homemades forum, and it seemed to get a good response...I think it'd be pretty cool, as well.

A forum seems much more efficient than the Q/A page I have. I didn`t expect that to take off like it did. It is very easy to fall behind with the updates. I am thinking about having a forum for each gun in which questions can be posted. I am also thinking of having one or two general homemade forums for questions, concepts, ideas, designs, finished guns, etc. I have made an announcement on the site but I`ll say it here. I will probably appoint a few moderators to patrol the general forums. Obviously they can`t answer the nitty gritty questions about my guns but they could tend to everything else. I would like for the mods to be mature and well versed in homemade design and fabrication as to answer most questions with experience behind them. I don`t know that the forum will really need moderators as I don`t expect a ridiculous amount of traffic (if any at all), but it can`t hurt.

So...Ompa, Carbon, Piney, the rest of you.... interested?

Bolt that is a good idea and I would be proud to monitor the bords as I am on there all the time even though you probably won't want me. Also I have pretty much finished mt SCAR-N carbine and i'm still fixing my digital camera right now. Thanks even if you consider me.
