And I thought it was bad enough seeing the end of 2ks...

Speaking of which I found an old style Nitefinder and a at2k at the TRU yesterday. I was going to buy it untill I scanned it and it came up $16.99 for one freakin at2k.

Yeah, us Canadians get diddled by the prices.

AT2ks at my Wal-Mart cost 12.99 or so. It's a complete rip off.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

Well I hope this N-Strike series goes out soon because all I see on the nerf battle field is noobs with Mavericks and Firflys. I like to see various types of weapons on the battleNERField

I want to see new models and they need to bring back the mega darts and guns that shoot them, the micro darts personaly suck in my opinion. ;)

Does any one have any pics of the "new" color NFs? I haven't seen one.

Sage, you can stop imagining. Silencer 32 made a barrel attachment for one on his Ultimator a few months before he stopped nerfing. As to the Nf situation, my area stores stopped carrying them months ago.

In the big picture I'm still next to nothing, he never talks to me.

That's odd, because I haven't seen NF's in my area for over a year... I wish I could find one, but I have to deal with the NiteFinder-EX3's :/. I hope, there will be a a Dart Tag NiteFinder, but as good as the NiteFinder or even better.

Technically there already is a dart tag version of the NF. They're renamed "Firestrike"s, but they only come in a bundle with the Dart Tag 2 Player system, and I've only ever seen that package available on ebay. They look just like EX-3s with paint jobs, but not having one to play with i can't make any comments on if there's a performance difference between the EX-3 and the Firestrike. If anyone knows where to find these in a physical store I'd be more than happy to get them and report back. I just don't want to pay the inflated eBay prices for the set.

I think the NiteFinder is the only Blaster that went through more changes than any other before.

I know about that, but I don't mean just a different paint scheme and a crappy new name. Kind of like the N-Strike NiteFinder EX-3 and NiteFinder difference.

I'm in Canada... the only stores that sell Nerf here are TRU, Walmart, and Zellers... the latter two really only sell Buzz Bee though, if you're lucky...

All that TRU has here are Dart Tag, N-Strikes, and Fireflys. I'd love to get my hands on a couple Mavericks and NiteFinders... Online stores don't have either, and the only way to get em is off Ebay.. but I don't feel like spending $30-$40 for a maverick.

Yeah thats why I said I wanted to get my hands on the Firestrike model, to see if it's just an EX-3 repaint (which it probably is), or if they actually did something surprising and have different performance stats than the EX-3. Such as the old NFs had better springs than the EX-3s, so the off chance that the Firestrikes have something closer to the original springs and not the EX-3 springs.

However I do fully admit that it's just wishful thinking and Nerf probably just painted them up and slapped a new name on the EX-3 model.

My Wal-Mart is crapping NFs like a bunch of tirds. They've got at least 10-15 NFs there. My K-Mart still had one poor old edition NF still on the shelf, I wanted to pick it up, but I'm more poor than all of you. Yes $6 shut up.

On my part, I think the Cross-fire is about the same as the New edition NF and we won't be seeing the old NFs anyway, unless you own one. So to me, it's ok. I just wish they'd come out with some more good spring pistols since it's all I'm good with.

the firestrike seems to perform the same as the ex-3 but has the same plunger rod as the old edition NF. also the spring is Silver unlike the dark browinish-green colored spring that is common in the ex-3, but like i said they seem to perform about the same.

I think it is more likely that they are simply replacing the stock in the stores rather than getting rid of the NF all together, why design a new color set for a gun your replacing. It just doesn't make economic sense.

On a side note Dys70pia do you wnat to be a really cool guy and switch avitars, just for the sake of claritiy?

I've barely seen anything around here, be it a 2k, NF, or even a scout... Then again, it could be that all the NERF stuff is going to Target, since Falcon can always find it there, yet I can't... :)

Sage, you DO know that Scouts come in the Unity system pack with the Titan and Hornet, right?

Anyway, the reason you can't find anything is probably because I buy everything ebfore you get there...

In all seriousness, I see some people freaking out like the shortage means that nerf is dying. This is obviously not true.

On the other hand, I see the fact that 2k's are not being seen in stores as much anymore as a good thing, and the same with Nite Finders.

Nite Finders and 2k's ahve been out for at elast 3 years or so now. I'm still using the same 1st edition Nite Finder I ever bought. It's sad that you all start looking for these guns right when they seemingly leave production lines...

In other words, if you find out a gun is good, or it look like you may be interested in it, by all means, go get it while it's still on shelves. Dart Tag Guns are already pretty much gone (as they've been converted to ugly-colored scouts, which are ugly enough in performance already...) Nite Finders seem to be on their way out.

So hang tight. I'm just enjoying the dart tag line while it's in prodction, because I use the micros from their guns to make my hi-visibility orange stefans. When they're going out of productuion, I'll lose my curent foam supply, and have to refert to FBR or the next color dart they decide to produce. So instead of waiting until they stop making dart tag refills, I'm stocking up NOW.

Shinny said earlier that his built up arsenal in his closet will make a pretty penny. This would suggest that he has an assload of (NIB?) Nite Finders, (1st/2nd/3rd edition is irrelevant...) and a bunch of (NIB?) 2k twin packs in his loset. Wiating for all you people to start freaking out, so shinny comes to the rescue and posts a limited quantity of AT 2k's and NF's for sale to highest bidder.

*BANK*

That's called cornering the market. And he'll make a fortune (which is relative...a fortune for a college student. Right there with ya, TIS...)

So sit tight everybody. Nerf's not going to bail on you. You don't have to obsess over each and every new gun that comes out. Shoot, I'd be happy to never buy myself another nerf gun. Granted, it won't happen; too many years of habit, but I don't ever plan on stopping use of my crossbow, Splitfire and Nite Finder. I'll be shooting with them until I'm too weak to push the joystick forward on my electric weelchair...

So yeah. They'll come out with replacements for the guns you "so desperately" need. They're not dumb. They need money, and you're the ones they're taking....I mean "gettingTrust ", lol, it from. Trust me, they'll make more...

Yours in Foam,

-Falcon

Actually, Falcon...I hope that most of the members who are 'concerned' about shortages of blasters are still ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN NERF a year from now.

Seems like the ones who are the most panicky are fairly new to the game, and don't seem to be genuinely interested in modding and trying out whatever is available at the time. When I started fixin' up my son's 1500 in 2002, I was in the middle of the SuperMaxx era. 1500s, new and old edition ones, were on the shelves, as were 250s, 350s, 750s, blue 3000s, and even a couple of 5000s (if I only knew about their later value...) The 500 and 1000 series were already gone.

Heck, I just picked up the hobby and started there. I bought a total of 8 1500s, horse-traded and eBayed some additional blasters (SS2, Triple Torch, Sawtooth, SM 350s), and gaffed my nephew's blasters (EaB, SSII) and fixed 'em up for him. A little at a time. Until the total mess we have now, that resembles an arsenal.

I never acquired a Crossbow, neither do I so desire to have one. I just missed out on the opportunity to have one off the shelf way back then, and I'm not going to spend $70 on eBay to have one shipped over to me in Hawaii. Well that, plus I'm totally happy fixin' up air powered blasters.

I was just wondering if you were actually referring to the TTG pistol, which took a downturn from the awesome (though ergonomically unfriendly) springer to a Scout clone.

I lucked out...I found a source who will sell me 3 of the TTGs, where they will be promptly modified and put to good use; another no-nonsense spring pistol.

I just hope everyone doesn't get all worked up when a blaster is on it's way out...when they come out with something new, we just have to get in and figure out a way to improve it's performance. We've been doing it all along with whatever Hasbro has been cranking out in the last couple of years...whether it be from the N-Strike series, or the Dart Tag sets, serious Nerfers will always be fooling with them and figuring out these things without posting on the forum boards asking for help every single step of the way.

Or at least Starbuck might put his 'services' up for sale. We'll see.

I believe we will see more NFs again as the hasbrotoyshop.com nerf page now lists the EX-3 and mav as available though they were listed as sold out until recently. Also the firefly and crossfires are now available there too (they were listed as coming soon). As always, I make no promises.

Isn't this old news? I though they have been discountinued for atleast one year now. Or is it just the places around here don't have 'em?

:) THINK MCFLY, THINK!
If they'd been discontinued for a year why do we have some many people talking about buying them?

If you are not seeing them in your area, but most everyone else is talking about buying them, what then in your conclusion?

Now why don't you make like a tree and get out of here.
