From the last time I saw everyone I was hearing late Jan. Like, in a week or so. Obviously, not a whole lot of time to plan for that, so, I'm thinkin late Feb myself. Preferably on a Saturday.
So? Thoughts, questions, concerns? Hows my driving?

Now, the new CAFF location is really working out well. Granted, it's all the way up here in Glendora, so I don't think you'd want to move YANO that far from Irvine. It can be a heck of a drive. But it does have an urban area like the one at Venado, plus a tree-filled park next door, two playgrounds, some open fields, basketball courts, handball walls, table/bench combos, etc.
Granted, we may not even make this next war. No, I take that back. I'll go, and might bring a guy or two with me, but I need some time off from modding clan guns and such, and would like to be able to just go out, make my own darts, and play.
So whenever's good with me, really, as band season's over. If I come across any good locations, I'll fill you in, but I'm not really sure just how far you're wanting to go. Are you hoping to stay in Irvine, or would a reasonable commute be okay?
I'm going to go check out a local High School that I haven't really visisted before and see what's up there as a possible alternate for a CAFF location. If it ends up having as much variety as Venado, then I'll get back to you on that one.

could you throw up some pictures? maybe they already exist and i'm just lazy. glendora is fine with me, its much closer than irvine. if i'm remembering correctly, glendora is pretty central to where most people are, except it makes the trip from san diego probably 30 minutes longer. the nice thing about glendora is that its right near the 210, 605, and 57. anyway, i'm a second-semester senior very soon so i'm definately down for a war. Now, the new CAFF location is really working out well. The Fall CAFF Location Has Pics Here, in the original thread And Also in it's recap thread I'm prety sure that's the CAFF location that Falcon was talking about. great place for a war, the park has lots of trees and the urban area is good too.could you throw up some pictures? maybe they already exist and i'm just lazy. glendora is fine with me, its much closer than irvine. if i'm remembering correctly, glendora is pretty central to where most people are, except it makes the trip from san diego probably 30 minutes longer. the nice thing about glendora is that its right near the 210, 605, and 57. anyway, i'm a second-semester senior very soon so i'm definately down for a war. Now, the new CAFF location is really working out well. That said, Glendora is just dandy with me. The location pics and urban area look good. Not many of us are even from Orange County anymore anyway.
February is a bit tough for me as I'm on a shoot, so the first weekend I'd be available would be Feb 24th-25th. March is totally open but I don't want to wait that long if I don't have to.

Within the first 15 min of CAFF, but falcon knows the custodians now so I think we're good there.Have you guys ever been kicked out of that Glendora urban area?
the 25th sounds good right now for me and I'll start bouncing the date around with my group. My only problem may be the fact that it's 2 day before my B-day and my family will probably plan something around that weekend, But since I know this far in advance, I think I'll be able to avoid that.

Then the retard decided to park his freaking SUV in the middle of the area, walk into one of the classrooms, and start working with his door open. So naturally, with the car in the way, we had to move.
If we decide to have it at Cullen, I'll go the day before and speak with he custodians so they understand. They think the concept of High Schoolers playing with kid's toys is hilarious, and they're more than willing to work around us. I just have to tell them ahead of time, and they'll work in that area when we're on lunch. Also, they leave campus every day by 3:00, so then the entire place is completely open.
Regardless of the custodians, the park next door is always open, as nobody ever really uses it anymore, plus the fact that it's grassy, has a playground at the center, and has quite a number of trees spread throughout. When we bring out about 12 yard-waste trash cans and set them upside-down in random spots around the area, it makes for an excellent balance of cover, so CTF the almost always well balanced (save for teams themselves). If we find a spot that's too hard to assault, and too easy to defend, we can just move things. If we really want to, we can change the area every round.
So there’s lots of flexibility with the grounds in general. If we feel adventurous, etc., we can go and use the large playground on the school campus that is surrounded by woodchips and then a massive grassy area. Heck, we can use the grass itself and set up trash cans, though that limits what we can do to flat ground and trash cans; less variety in the course that way...
The Urban area isn’t quite as open and free as the one at Venado, but it is really fun to play. There are some handrails that keep it from being an unrestricted central corridor going in both directions, but it still has some walkway ramps with rails and things of the like as seen at Venado. Also, the ground changes height at several places in the area, making things again more interesting. Some park benches in the middle of the central corridor going one direction keep play from being restricted to using corners as cover. There are a few obstacles around the outside of the area such as a large steel box, a small enclosed block wall (akin to the outside end of one of the traps at the Alamo), a brick enclosure with trash dumpsters in it, a fairly large tree at one end in the grass, and a set of two storage sheds on the other end, which are accompanied by an old dysfunctional furnace.
Now that I’ve really gone over the top in describing the crazy place, if there’s anything else I haven’t covered that you’re concerned about, by all means, just ask. I don’t really care if we use Glendora or not, but I figured if we want this to happen soon, we had better find a location sooner.
If you guys are willing to go for it, I’m definitely up for another friendly chat with the local custodial staff. It’s not like I’m going to complain about the location...it’s a two minute jog from my house.
So if you guys are up for it, just let me know.
The weekend of the 25th would be wonderful. I don’t know about attendance in my clan, but there’s still some work some of them need to do on their guns, because I have officially set them free. Any other work needed to be done on their guns (aside from repairs at a war) is their responsibility. *sigh* Freedom is a wonderful thing...
So yeah...If the 25th works out for all of you, I’m game. Heck, we’re all game. Half my group is dying to pull a trigger again, so if it ends up being here, I know I can guarantee a larger turnout form us than at the last YANO...Like 10-15.
Later!
Yours in Foam,
-Falcon

PS. Kevin will never show his face again, due to...well, for lack of a better term, we broke up. He's lucky I didn't punch his lights out though. Sadly though, I think in the end it was over a girl. O well, I'm marrying her!

I have a performance audition in San Diego at 1:00 on the 25th.
Are there any other days that work well for people? I don't mean to be one to change everything, but nobody else in my group has spoken with the Janitors, so yeah...
Damnit.

I might be a tad bit late due to church in the morning and/or being tired from the audition+the trip there & back, but we'll be there.
Can I assume we'd be getting together around 10:00 as usual?
And we won't even have to worry about the Janitors, bcause they don't work on Sundays. More power to us...

I just need to know a final relatively soon so I can make sure the place is clear.
EDIT:
I just remembered about this whole deal...
Cx, are you planning to bring those pyramids we used last summer at "geddon? If you could that'd be nice. Not necessary, but nice.
Also, unless you have other plans, I can have the flags themselves taken care of. I have a new idea that fits with our area for the placement and use of flags. It's straightforward, but a little more convenient and visible location-wise.
Just some thoughts/questions I figured I should raise...
