Although it is a huge pain to actually get it in tip, it makes the streamline that much better. (from my tests, anyway.)

if I could find one the size of a coffee stirrer, I would be happy.
Otherwise, I suggest making a small hole in the opposite side of the existing one, so the gas pressure that comes out doesn't blow the applier out of the dart. The fill tends to be sticky, so it isn't so much fun to get covered in it.
but yes, from an accuracy standpoint, the few darts I did manage to fill, they fly quite a bit straighter and even further.
Makes me wonder if Hasbro actually balanced the dart.

One question thou, when removing the air resrictor, is it nessary to use the straw and foam? I've seen some who just remove the top rod section like you have but done nothing else to it. Just wondering thats all.

Great tutorial on this maverick mod, and the pictures really help.

No, not at all.
All you have to do is remove the 3-pronged piece, and the spring underneath it.
The peg itself doesn't matter, as all it does is holds the micros in place. So it can be removed with wire cutters, a knife, etc.
The foam and straw method looks like it likely keeps the airflow contained, aka more direct pressure.

I think a little more careful reading will improve your stay here.I just finished removing the air restrictors on my Maverick and adding a more powerful spring (from one of the dart tag guns, about the same size and more powerful, a good choice I think) and it feels like I am getting more power but the gun doesn't shoot as far as it did stock. I think your mod will fix that problem. Thanks!
This topic is over a year old. Don't post here.
I gotta go easy on you though. I noticed the name and I couldn't help but sing the song in my head. Im kinda a Firefly fan so yeah.
