This is my first post in a while, I havn't been very active lately so here it goes:

Nerf on Wikipedia provides the potential to bring members into the hobby of Nerf who are actually able to contribute to this community and Nerf in itself. Illadar and I have significantly contributed to the Wikipedia article on Nerf. This, however, is only the begining. The Nerf Haven forums needs more quality new members than we are currently getting. With the recent abundance of 'newbies' filling up the Nerf Haven community, it is safe to say that Nerf as a hobby needs a few more members who are respectable and willing to read the CoC. By contributing to the Nerf article on Wikipedia, you are helping bring members to the hobby / sport.

The article is located here and it is completely editable by anyone. So far Illadar and I have added significantly to the modification section and added 2 pictures. We've also added a picture to the article on 'Stefan Darts'.

You too can help add to the size of this article out of interest or for the sole purpose of recruitment.

I think that we should put a list of guns made by Nerf, Lanard, Larami and other such brands on Wikipedia.

Illadar and I definately agree that a war section is in order. Since neither of us have ever been to a large scale Nerf war, somebody else will have to do it. Maybe bring up Armageddon (sp?) and SENO with links to the videos.

To: MLoR, I like the idea of having a list of many Nerf blasters as well as maybe highlighting the ones that were taken out of production.

And yeah, Groove would be a much better person to show a Nerfer!

EDIT: Remember, don't just post ideas for changes. If you are familier with the subject, then by all means, go ahead and write about it. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone at any time.

I contributed a little ditty on Crayola/PVC nesting, a definition of "nesting", and the possibility of a ruptured air tank with the plugging of the OPR valve.

It's probably a good thing you guys took the time to make this. At the very least, it will inform the curious netsurfer about Nerf and what actually goes on in our community.

I especially like the bit about the Civil War bullets. Pretty interesting stuff...

Hooray for the Steve Miller Band.

Am I missing something here or is the nyquil starting to get to me? What on earth does the Steve Miller Band have to do with Nerf on Wikipedia?

There is a list up there in alphabetical order now but it is extremely incomplete. Take a Look and add what you can.

To the Infinite Shindig: I posted the comment about the Steve Miller Band because Shrimp had posted a lyric from one of their songs in the previous post.

I think that the list looks okay but I'm sure that on wikipedia there must be a more formal way of creating a list. I'm going to look into that and maybe change it but if anyone already knows how could they do that? sometimes the list can look quite sloppy depending on your monitor and the resolution. I use a widescreen monitor so the list (before I resized the image of the over-pressure release valve) had a few out of place items on it. This article is getting bigger by the day which is a very good thing. Keep it up!

EDIT: I'm not sure if i have already said this, don't use the word "gun". It makes nerf sound like a dangerous sport along the lines of paintball. Please use the word 'Blaster' because it is a much better term for describing 'Nerf Guns'

I'll see what I can do about adding some information regarding wars, such as YANO, Armageddon, SENO, Apocalypse, CAFF, etc. along with links to pictures from them.

EDIT: I did it. Looks pretty good. It'd be nice to have a link to the most recent Armageddon video, from '05, *cough* ahem, Jon...lol. But it looks like there's enough info to keep things interesting...

In the meantime, I've got it linking to the SENO video, the Spring CAFF video, the Armageddon 2004 video, and the list of pics from December YANO 2005.

Also, the site with all the pics from Apocalypse '02 (linked through evil's site) is down. If anybody knows of an archived set of those pics we could link the page to, that'd be nice.

I found this site from wikipedia.

It was a bit vague at the time, but now it's much better.

I think the idea of a Nerf page on Wikipedia is excellent. I did just a little work on it, making some of your sentences less awkward. I think the next task then, is to get this Wiki article to come up on the first page of results for "nerf" on Google. It's on the second page right now. As soon as that happens (somehow, you guys know?) I think traffic will definitely increase.

Cheers!

Don't believe I've heard that Steve Miller song, though I'm a fan. Also, I think that this is a very good idea. I made a couple of corrections. For one thing, it's technically "South-Eastern Nerf Out," though that's not a big deal, but I corrected that, and it's held in Alabama, not Georgia, so I corrected that. It's bi-annual, and not annual, so I put that in the parentheses, with the location and full name. I also added the Switch Shots series, and the Mech Six.
