Well as some of you may know or guess I breed an own exotic reptiles. I currentlly keep about 100 crested geckos (Rhacodactylus Ciliatus) of variouse morphs (patterns) and colors as well as a few cornsnakes, bearded dragons, HIGH YELLOW jungle pythons, New Cal Giant geckos (Rhacodactylus Leachianus) and a small colony of giant & Mossy leaftail geckos (Uroplatus fimbriatus/Uroplatus sikorae). I am also a fulltime member of a reptile forum where other breeders as well as myself get together and show off each others stuff as well as discuss there gentic qaulities. (I'm not sure if I can link the site so I won't at this time) but it really is a cool website to learn about the main species I breed (crested geckos).
I was wondering if there are any other reptile fans here besides my self? Well let me know.

I'm a big reptile fan and also amphibians, but at the moment I dont have any reptiles. I do have some tree frogs and such tho...

I remember when I had lizards. I had two collard lizards and after 6 months one of them killed the other and then it died of depression 2 weeks after.

I had a pet iguana named Iggy, but my dad gave it a piece of wood to climb on and the ants in that wood ate him.

I highlly doubt your collard lizard died from depression Shrimp. Probablly a medical condition of some kind. The only amphibians I'm really into are tiger salamanders, hellbenders and the gaint asian salamander. Oh and for putting wod from outside in your reptiles enclosure is just a bad idea. It could have ants.....or bacteria or parisites for that matter. Anyway keep the pics coming and stories as well.

Oh no, it definately died of depression. Trust me I'm a pet psychologist.

Shrimp I still have to say that I highly doubt that's the case. Even if you are a pet psychologist (which is a questionable title) you're probably not a herpetologist. Depression is a human state of mind typically attributed to mammalian species. What you probably mean is "stress" and I'm assuming that the other collard lizard killed your first one because they were probably housed improperly (not intentionally of coarse, but none the less). The reptilian brain is a simplistic one, to process the emotional feelings that are a quaility in all fully conscious beings such as humans (depression in this case) would simply be out of there contextual capabilities. The feeling of depression in this case would be linked to the death of the other lizard and would require that the lizard whichcommited the act to have a concept of death to experience it. Only elephants and primates really come close to processing those complex emotions. Stress probablly killed your lizard do to the fighting that occured while they were housed together.

Yeah, I was pretty much just kidding about it dieing of depression. It just kind of died after 2 weeks. I got them from someone else who never handled them so they pretty much sucked, and would bite your hand if you ever tried picking them up.

Oh ok I kinda thought so but I wasn't sure, sorry about your loss. By the way there are so many better species to own, ever think of getting something else? You can google just about anything and find an online breeder that will overnight it right to your door.

Thank you, as for the jungle I'm not exactlly sure as it belongs to my partner but I believ she got it through Mark & Kim Bell, I think anyway.

I have a ball python named Mona, who is my most successful female relationship. Named Mona due to my mothers fear I would get Salmonella from her. Due to that whole winter thing, she really hasn't been moving around much of late, but still.

Yeah you run about the same risk of catching Salmonella from a ball python as say getting struck by a lightning bolt. As long as you don't lick your ball paython after it deficates and then slithers through it you should be fine. Really only aqautic reptiles aka, amphibians really transmit it and even then if you keep your turtle's tank somewhat clean the risk is low.
