So I recently got around to noticing the performance of my guns; mainly in the areas of range and consistency. Mainly my Crossbow.
The actualy operation of the guns is all well and good, but I think it's my darts that's the problem.
To weight my darts, I use either ~>10 12GA Buckshot pellets or one 5.2mm (or rouglhy 1/5") Splitshot. In Australia, these are labeled as Size 00 Splitshot sinkers. For my heavy, "armour-piercing darts" (usually pointed, but never shot at people when tips are pointed) I use 1x Size 1 Splitshot sinker, measuring at 6.8mm or roughly 1/4".
I would use 1/4" steelshot ammo if I could get them.

In YOUR opinion, and in your case, what would be the best weight to use all around. The weapons primarily used here are AT3k's, SF's, PC's, and homemades and a Crossbow.
I'd rather make darts that work well in high power guns and use them in the lower power guns too than lack performance in the high powered guns and get it all out of low powered guns.

Might it not be best to have two different types of darts? Ones for you higher powere losers, and ones for your lower power guns. Thats what i do

I've been experimenting with two different types of darts for my two different styles of guns. All of my stefans are made 1.5" long, but I use different weights for different guns. I use stefans with 7/0 splitshot in them for high powered primaries, like my LBB or Titan. But I use 3/0 splitshot in my darts that I use for my Mav, SSPB and NF. With the weaker guns, the lighter darts get more range, velocity and are more accurate (obviously). I find with my more powerful guns, the 7/0 splitshot stefans get more range and are much more accurate. I just paint the two types of stefans different colours so I can distinguish between the two types.

I use 1/4" slingshot balls, but they're basically identical to the 3/0s, so you could use those for guns ranging from about 70-100'. Anything more and I'd say just use 7/0s if you can get them or basically anything bigger. I've tried BBs (not BB size fishing weights, just BBs) and they SUCK. You need like four to equal one 3/0 if not more.

For all-purpose I use 1/4" balls or 3/0 sinkers, it's what I use for everything. I don't use the 3/0s though because of the wings on them that make it difficult to center them, but if you can get them without wings, do that.

EDIT: I should also mention that I use megas, but when I used 1/4" balls or 3/0 sinker weighted micros out of my NF, 2k and even Mav and RF20 they all got the best performance.

I do, usually just one for my low power guns like the PC and WF, and two or 3 for my high powerd guns.

I should also make note that I don't know how big a 3/0 or 7/0 weight is.
If you could point out measurements and stuff, that'd be great.
Also, I use Micros in almost all of my guns. I do use Megas, but not too much.
Are my Size 1 weights the same as a 3/0 weight?

Here you go.

From left to right: 1. 1/4" steel slingshot ball, 2. size 3/0 fishing weight, 3. BB size fishing weight, 4. BB.

The slingshot ball is 1/4" in diameter of course, which is 6.35 mm.
The 3/0 is about the same size without the wings, maybe 6.2 to 6.25 mm, it's just a tad smaller. With the wings it's barely over 1/4", maybe about 6.4, 6.45 mm.
The BB size fishing weight is about 3/5 the diameter of the 3/0 without wings; with them it's about 2/3.
The BB is the same size as the BB fishing weight without the wings, about 1/8" or 3.18 mm across.

I waaaay prefer the slingshot balls over everything else I've used, which includes BBs, BB fishing weights, 3/0s and the slingshot ammo. For megas out of a singled 2k, they're ideal and when it was modded for micros the 1/4"ers got about 95' out of it. Sunchip uses 7/0s for his megas out of his singled 2k and gets better range than me, so just try out some stuff and see what works.

Sorry for the bad quality picture, it's hard to take them from a foot away. I don't have any 7/0s, so sorry I can't help you with that.
