NOTE: There is no tactics forum on Nerf Haven, so I posted it in GND. Hope it's okay.
There have been many ideas on how to efficiently clear rooms-ranging from delta style tactics to maverick rushing, but outdoor sector clearing is a different topic that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
Personally, I prefer a highly modified room clearing technique used by spec-ops. Of course, all military strategies have to be altered to fit the unique requirements of NERF weapons and play styles, but the basic concept remains constant- cause confusion within enemy ranks to distract them from the direction of impending fire, while eliminating hostiles and securing the area.
Here's a sample tactic that is useful in small (about a quarter acre) clearings: 4 man team, one x-bow, one rf20/ wf/ pc, 2 at3ks, mavs, or nfs, depending on enemy troop strength and terrain. The basic idea is that the x-bow takes out one enemy from one direction. Regardless or not of experience, the enemy will turn to that direction instinctively. The rf man should fire from the opposite direction, not aiming necessarily to kill, but to distract. Now, the two trooper types come from either of the different directions, to eliminate the thouroughly confused enemies. All this is over in about 10 seconds, when the enemy is also about 4 strong. The troop types and very tactic can be modified to fit virtually any situation because of its versatility.
I am not saying that is the only tactic, but it is representative of its class.
I pose the following question to you: What are your methods for clearing isolated outdoor areas. Include weapon type, tactic, and troop strength. Thanks, and have fun.

I've had one where we were clearing outside from inside a garage; since they didn't know we were there we positioned ourselves in 2s around the edges of the garage door, had one guy lean down and give a count down, when he hit zero he threw open the door and everyone started blasting. I think we were up against larger numbers than our own, we had 4 and the other guys had 5 or 6.

To use your words, I believe in troop strength. I have held off 3-4 guys with dual Lock N Loads. This just shouldn't happen. I am out gunned big time mostly, but it seems my size/age intimidates younger players. Evil would be the first to tell you, I can't hit him for shit. I'm best with an at2k, but otherwise I'm garbage. This is a word to all who nerf with me. If it's 2 on 1 against me or more, RUSH ME! I'm fat and don't want to run, on top of the fact that I usually use a single shot weapon. Someone take the hit and the other will get me.

I'm not accustomed to seeing you with two pistols. More often you've got something that looks like a parker brothers board game gone terribly wrong pointed at me, and you could have fired every last shot out of it and I wouldn't know because it's got ten different possible barrels sticking out of the front.

I've noticed that too, but in airsoft. Playing against my brother and his friends, I lay waste. I run at them and jump out of "nowhere" and weild a springer Vietnam-style M16 that is bigger than they are... It's all about intimidation. They scatter when they see me coming, but the few times they do stand thier ground they usually do pretty well. There are usually 10 of the kids against me, or 2 with me and the rest against... But I'm not that bad against players more my age ether.

Intimidation is definately a factor, and you can get it from size, being frightening by blitzing without fear of deat and yelling things, or by stealth. Taking people out without them having a clue is a great way to intimidate them; it's just like invulnerability.
