Im not sure what my problem is, but I opened up my nitefinder and drilled out the two air restrictors that protrude from the plunger case. Then, i used epoxy to atach my 1/2 inch copper barrell to the air restrictor at the very end of the plunger case setup(BAsically how most NF mods are). Should i Have not drilled out the very first one that the air passs through? anyway, im using micro nerf darts, and they go not farther, but in fact shorter a distance than my non-modified NF. This is my first odification and i'm kind of discouraged here. Should i use stefans instead? What size? (Inches),
Or, is the barrell material im using not right?

Your using copper. Copper licks the crust that grows between a homeless mans balls and leg. I have never ever gotten good results with copper. Go to your local hobby shop and pick up some brass or order some petg from either viper or Cx.

Brass is going to have the same effect using stock micros. You need something that will grip your darts more, not less. Otherwise the darts are skipping out before all the air has built up behind them. I would either replace the barrel with a crayola, or switch to stefans and nest the barrel.

What is nesting?
So would it be better to epoxy on PETG, nest it, or use crayola barrells.

Wouldnt the darts not fit with PETG also?

Pinhead is right. Somehow I didnt even see that you were using stock darts. Yeah with stock darts youd be better off using crayolas. Get into stefans, they will go much further and are cheaper to buy too. Only use brass or petg to shoot stefans. Barrel replacement on a small spring gun is a waste of time if you arent even using stefans or idiot darts.

Stop lying to us about your NF. It doesn't get 90' and it especially doesn't get that with a Crayola and stock darts. Just...wow.

Machine, switch to Stefans and use something that fits your darts tightly.

I am going to have to agree with monkey in saing that that is BS I made one with an exchanged spring CPVCed and it still doesn't hit 90', maybe 75' on a good day but never 90'. Please show us this gun and its internals so we may actually believe you.

I can't say I believe your ranges. 70' is pushing it for a NF modded to the max firing STEFANS!!!: and that's angled. 90' angled or flat is ridiculous, unless you overhauled the plunger tube. Especially using stock darts with a CRAYOLA barrel. I'll believe it when I see it.

Why don't you just let it go. Does it really matter what his ranges are? This topic was made to help someone out not to flame someone because they overexagerate their ranges. If he wants to think his NF gets 90' then let him think that. Just let it go... just let it go.
