Dang I don't think my mom and dad will get my a new modem. Oh well thanks for the help.

Instead of running wires throughout my house, I use a Wireless adapter that plugs into the PS2 adapter and interacts with my router. It works great, no lag, and was very easy to set up. It can be found here

It may seem a bit pricey, but if I didnt have this I would have to drape wires over a balcony, so that wouldnt be good.
