I'm going to buy as many old-type Tech Target sets (preferrably the ones with the bonus extra pistol), because I think they are the most powerful 'out-of-box' (no banding or spring mod), simplest to mod spring pistols out there (even if I don't like the ergonomics or looks of them).
And I'm sure Hasbro was aware of that, hence the Scout look-alikes with the new TTS. As well as with old NFs compared to EX-3s.
The new line up does look nice, though.

Yeah, I could be a little off about range, my eyes said 20-25 but whatever. I'm afraid I do have to (semi) disagree with you about the extra spring as the hasbro guys said the internals are almost the same as the scout, meaning that wierd, weak trigger mechanism. Granted if the spring had low enought tension it might work but I wouldn't want to risk it. Of course if someone else would want to risk it, then all the power to them.Euph was wrong, my eyeballing range says 30-35'. I expect with an extra spring and a good barrel mod done you could get 50.

If they left out performance, their toys wouldn't sell. Who wants an awesome looking gun that barely shoots the dart out of the barrel? Performance may not be most important, but it still has to be there.

Looks? How can they be focusing on looks when both of these guns are fugly ugly! They both look horrible! The Nerf designers are aiming at awesome looks, but not focusing on the performance... I disagree with their choice.

Little kids may think they look cool. Oh, the colors! Hasbro does aim for a young crowd. The company has still released good guns for the Nerf Community, so I wouldn't complain. I can't say the same for the water war community, which Hasbro has lowered their target age to basically infants. I have boycotted their last 3 lines.
Hasbro, like other big companies, tends to trim preformance if it means wider profit margins and cheaper production costs. They also rely on gimmicks, colors, and other external elements of their products. If you don't like it, the best alternative is homemades. I've been telling people that for at least a year, and many have listened. Nerf homemades especially have a hell of a lot more potential than most realize. Get innovating!

Like I said it was from ebay so I can't take credit. I know I can't post listings not from myself but at least I only included the picture. These are part of the dart tag line apparently and they are nite finders. What I am hoping is that they have the original spring. However, since I (opinion based without solid proof) see nothing good coming out of this line, I predict the springs will be even weaker than the EX3. Wait, that shouldn't be capitalized... ex3.
