Hi, I'm kinda new here, though I have been reading the forums for a couple months. I just wanted to see if anybody had a link to, or a archived version of nerf online. Thanks.

The Internet Archive has NerfOnline archived at various dates. The images in the lastest versions don't seem to work but at least the text works.

For a whacky trip down memory lane, recall that time Hal wouldn't let Vacc stop some dumb asshole from making about 3,000 defensive and passive-aggressive posts with no value to the forums whatsoever.

Great place, that.

Hoo-boy, them was good times. Hal hadn't even Nerfed in about three years. Moderators weren't able to moderate. Good times.

I packed me' bags and handed in my admin badge before the brouhaha occured. I don't really know what happened to it other than Hal just never really Nerfed and he wanted to start his business or whatever.

I'm not sure why many people think fondly of NO. Perhaps it was because their first Nerf forum experience? Or they liked the rants of Majin Buu? Beats me. Heh, I registered there when I was 9. I remember Cxwq telling me not to trade my LnL for an RF20. At the time I couldn't figure out why.

Someone is a newbie and doesn't know how long ago nerfonline shut down it's forums, and that the rules on NO, were different the the rules here. I don't normally hate on newbies, but if you don't know what your talking about just shut up. Honestly leave the CoC quotes to the moderators.
Likewise you have no idea of how old LDM is now, and you might notice he's been around a lot longer than you, so he probably knows the rules by now.

Oh come on though, we had such a big and lively community back on NO. And Gunther. Gunther rocked.

A lot more than 13 judging by the fact that you were active on both Nerf Online during its heyday and Nerf Evolved (you posted articles there).

I'm not gonna lie: it was good, but as Robert Frost says it, "Nothing gold can stay". Let's look at the present and toward the future.

I know, we all like to look back on it with a smile. From 'The Sweet Spot' to 'I win', there were good times. Now, we've got something NO lost: dedication.

And so, I propose a toast to The Haven. May it live like a Galapogos tortoise, and bring fruitful years to come.

On every forum I've seen, It said you had to be 13 to join.

Sorry, I though that was the standard.

Back on topic, X-Forums was hacked. By a clown named d1r3kt. Who was smart enough to post about it on some other forum.
My good friend found all of his personal info and actually talked to him, and he gave him his address. He is going to go visit him (he lives about an hour away). Just to put the fear of God in him. The jerk deleted all of the archives, including on the role-playing stuff. Not cool.

And yeah, I think I liked NO because it was my first Nerf forum. NH is much more professional and geared towards contributing information and helping one another.
And it's more fun without trolls. :D

I'm sure Hal has a backup. He thinks of himself as a professional webmaster or something.

Haha, yeah. He really ought to have one from fairly recently.

But yeah, I might go with him if I have free time. Because hax0rs are teh sux0r. And I think it will be really funny. Hackers are usualy not that intimidating of people.

And yeah, Hal has always kinda seemed jerky and seemed to think he was really paving the way to the future or something.

You rock, VACC. Anyway, I was just taking a trip down Nerf-memory-lane with my friend tonight, thinking back to our first war in some woods with only Secret Shots, our first discovery of Nerf on the Internet with Stephan Mohr's website which looked like it come from 1996 and probably did. NO was really a great place to foster our budding Nerf-selves and stuff.

Oh, but look at me, an old geezer reminiscing on the old times. VACC, I remember you liked that parody Nerf site I did a long time ago. Check it out, it's still up: looking sharp, as ever.
