I have just foam backer rod and can't find any weights since there are no fishing places ( I live outside of Phila so no ocean). Are there any other things that you can use for weights?

1/4" steel slingshot ammo. Sold at Wal-Mart behind the gun counter (you don't need to be 18 to buy it though). Works just as well if not better than fishing weights since the slingshot ammo are spherical and therefore more balanced. 500 pack costs like $6.

I'm talking something that might be at your house. anyway how much does one of them weight. And does it really matter if you put weights in them or could you just put more hot glue where the weight would go.

WHAT THE HELL??? I'm trying to help people but the damn flood control keeps gettin' me...

If you've ever played Airsoft or own a BB gun, BB's are pretty nice... I live in NJ (really close to PA) and I can still get fishing weights... There are bound to be some in a Wal-Mart or Sports store...

if your looking for something around your house. #6 steel washers...they've worked great as weights for me throughout my stefan making experience. just make sure you have enough hot glue there to cover the whole washer, someone was scratched at a YANO by a stefan of that type, when the glue left a tiny surface of metal uncovered.

Okay, someone (say, a mod?) seriously needs to sticky a thread with all valuable information about Stefans. Mmmk? And like Spoon said, 1/4 lb slingshot ammo. Anyway, this damn flood control...yarr.

You definately need a weight, no amount of hot glue is going to cut it. Washers are a bit light but will work on in full auto guns, but yea make sure you cover them completely. Steel slingshot ammo and 3/0 fishing weights are perfect for brass or high powered guns, but not great for autos.

I have always put 2 bb's in my stefans.

Me and my clan use hard, rounded, tacks on the top of our stefans. When stuck on with hotglue, these get pretty average ranges compared to the more traditional stefans.

A made my first stefans Since i couldn't get any Slingshot ammo or fishing weights because i wanted to make them all i did was use the hot glue gun to make a hole pretty fa down before the gun starts to get rid of the puter top part. Then i stuck a wildfire screw (mine broke) down to make sure it would fit. Then took it out put hot glue in the hole jammed the screw down so you can't see it if your looking at the dart with a side view .Put more hot glue on top of it to make a tip. Let it dry and viola!!!! a dart that works..

I don't remember exactly what they were called, but they were pellets of some sort. I think they were BB pellets. They were shaped like this:

They worked more efficent than the other stuff I tried.

Gluing Phillips' head screws that hold down washers works for me. Vary the amount of washers for what gun you're using.

Strangly enough there called pellets, they are shot from pellet guns.
