Yes, it does look like a silver turd, but it can get good ranges, or rages of about 5 feet depending on how you use it.

Bolt: spyderco is a great company with great customer service. You shouldn't have told them that 'if you put enough backward force'. that falls under "spine-whacking" and is a deal breaker. you should have just complained about 'blade-play' and potential 'lock-failure'. But at least you have your 943! axis locks rock balls off of everything!

I`m not gonna cleverly word my problem and omit certian things just to get them to cover their own products. When you charge over $100 for a folder you would think you would stand behind your product and fix it. I could understand this response on a low cost 'current' Gerber or no-name brand. It was obviously regular wear from time and not like the knife was bent in half. You wouldn`t beleive how often you exert that kind of force (most of the times very small but still enough to break the lock) just using it as intended until you have a knife that doesn`t hold it's lock. "Spine-whacking" my ass....

Before buyign the 943 I talked with a Benchmade rep at a local gun/knive show. I told him my problem and that I was interested in a Becnhmade as a replacement. He agreed with me and also told me that Benchmade would cover the knife in a situation like that. Sold me. I love that knife and it was worth every penny.

Well i feel you, but ive had no problems with spyderco, sent in my native a year ago to get the pivot tightened and ive just sent in my delica that ive had since i was 12, to get the vertical blade play fixed.
Customer service are people too. They might have just been lazy that day and wrote you off as someone who abused his knife. Mabey they thought that, because you had the police model, i dont know. I would try sending it in again, just for the hell of it.

I had some benchmades but i sold them off. For some reason I would avoid using my knife if i carried an expensive one. Go figure. But i dont carry crap. You would be suprised at the quality you can find out there on the cheap.
The two on top are craftsman work knives designed by Ken Onion, and made by kershaw. Blades are AUS-6. These have the most solid lock ups out of teh bunch
the one in the middle is a Camillus EDC in 154-CM
Brand spankin new spyderco Native from Wally-world in S30V

And various small folders I carry when carrying knives any bigger will get me funny looks. Only ones worth mentioining are the spyderco ladybugII in vg-10, the kershaw chive, and the gerber ridge, which for some reason is in AUS-8


And to follow suit, i'll post my crappy mall-ninja collection

The only one i feel bad puttin in this category is the little Hide-Away-Knife. Custom fitted, and it cost me a pretty penny. Useful as hell, fixed blade stability in the smallest package avalible, but gets me looked at like im a psycho.

Edit: in case anybody dosent know my mall-ninja reference, is in no way relating to bolts katanas. they are beauties.

useful as in, quick and handy to cut things with, without having to worry about moving parts and what not.

it was engineered in a way that you dont have to have a full size grip, but yet have all the stability of one.

the HAK looks like a typical mall-ninja push dagger. not a small slipjoint that your grandpa carries.

Well, I think one factor in their responce is that the C07 is a discontinued model.... Maybe it would have been different if I had had a knife that they still carried.

Well I'm not, and I try not to look like one. Every blade that I EDC is under 3 inches.

Some people swear by 3 1\4" to 4" blades as a nessesity.
I personally have never gotten into a situation where I needed a blade over 2 inches.
But with the exception of the Spydie Native, every 2 inch blade comes with an equally stubby handle.

This is the only blade I own that is worth mentioning. I could bring out a pocket knife, an exacto knife, keychain knife or even a gyad damn butterknife but I thought I better bring what is a tad more interesting. So here it is a dagger or Kris by Kit Rae.

The problem is, it's alright that it's a display, but that thing looks as if it's a toy.

You can count on the fact that it is not a toy. This thing is sharp, not katana sharp but sharp. My only complaint is that the grip can be uncomfortable untill you find that one sweet spot for the meaty part between your thumb and your pointer finger. Also feels cool running my finger down the blade and feeling that wave effect.

I have 4 swords in my collection, none of which are katanas, all are 9th+ century European but My best quality piece is a 12th century norman sword and is 3/16" high carbon spring steel and has been tested through a steel to steel test. And since I'm too lazy to post a pic. I will give you the link.

Angel, thats sick! I love it! Thanks for the pic, I;m interested in a knife like that, where did you get it and how much? I would love to have on of those. The reason it looks like a toy is that those knifes are for display only, and they are made to look good and only to look good.

Wow, those are awesome palose, are all of your swords like that? You'd have to be a drug dealer to pay for those, are you? Do you medival reinact or somehing?

The knife store for about $250 Canadian. You make think it is designed for show but keep in mind this isn't something that would not be brought to a sword fight. Also keep in mind that flesh and organs wont break the bone.

yeah, all of them are of that quality but the 12th century norman sword is the only that one is sharp though, and the reason for the others is that I do reinact and it is for saftey reasons, and no I am not a drug dealer. I don't even have a job, so it's all from birthday\christmas money and a small allowance.
