I am going to the Turkey Day war tommorow in Jersey, so I was sitting on my couch, making darts. All of I sudden I realize, "What the fuck do I keep all these darts in?". This is my first war so I have never had so many darts to deal with. I ussually just shove darts in my pockets (I know this bends them, please don't start).

How should I carry the darts around? Do you know of any good things to put them in?

A big ziplock taped to your waist or secured around your belt should hold all of your stefans. Also, nerfing is the only excuse to use a fanny pack with Tweety Bird (for general elegance) on it. I usually use my cargo shorts with huge pockets.

Store your darts in an emty tissue box, or a big zip-lock bag. As far as reloads during a round, itll be chilly out. Wear a hoodie with a nice pocket on the front. I generaly just go into a round with my gun loaded and a healthy handfull of stefans in my hoodie pocket.

What works for me is getting one of those hard plastic index card holders and ataching it to yourself in some way (duct tape works).

U usually wrap myself in duct tape with the sticky side facing away. Then all I do is stick my darts onto the tape. I either do the duct tape or stick twenty in my pockets. The games won't last very long so you only really need a about 20 in your possesion.

What happens when you go prone in the grass? Or even the woods? You would have a ghille suit on, unententially.

I've been doing the same thing for the past several years and I have had no problems. I usually wear some kind of cargo pants (whether OD or an actual camo). They have large, loose pockets around knee height, and are easy to handle darts from.

Pockets are usually the best option. I have been thinking of designs for an ammo belt too. Crayolas and d-tape sound like good materials to me. It seems practical and most importantly, you're a Nerfing fashion icon. People will look at you and say "hey, check out the guy with lots of bullets and duct tape" (could he be a carpenter assassin?) Of course this all ties in with the camo-cargo pants, the plain white wifebeater, brown trucker hat, and CamelBak hydration system (don't be thirsty now!)

Yeah, my motto is "if you look good doing it, nobody's gonna care". A beasty ammo belt is going to liven up your wars a little, intimidate the children, and announce that you are sincerely there to kick major ass. Carry your darts in a way that makes you look good, that's all I have to say.

I also deck out in full combat gear, and the strategies that ork for me are:

-Buy those paintball ammo holders. They can hold a lot of ammo. If you wear them upside-down, you can just flip opne the velcor, slide it down, and extract ammo really quickly.
-Shove them in your pockets. It works.

Those are the only two I use, and I can carry a LOT of ammo.

I hope that helps.

Now, while I usually don't have any extra ammunition to carry around; I've seen some people who have their darts mounted shotgun style on the barrel. I've also just realized that I've got a shotgun shell belt that would fit about 40 darts perfectly...

But your best bet is something made from duct tape or cargo pockets. You could get some webbing and sew yourself an ammo belt like boltsniper's, or buy a boonie hat and store ammo up there, or get some coveralls and fill all the many pockets in those, etc., etc..

As others, I like to wear BDU pants (camo pants), and use the side cargo pockets to carry ammo. I also have a general/ammo pocket I put on my belt to hold my extra PC clip and LnL ammo. After my LnL tac holster on the right leg, that leaves my left leg cargo pocket, which I stuff with a good number of darts for the PC (as anyone who does it knows, switching clips is very inefficient and only for dire circumstances). If I get some of those digi-camo pants (ACU), I'll put ammo in the ankle pockets too, since I end up spending a lot of time crouching in cover. I've also considered sewing on an extra pocket on my Nerfing camo pants, but I don't really have the skill or expertise to do so.

Usually cargo pants work for small amounts of ammo, but a fanny pack is quite effective for larger loads, as well as being easily reachable. Also, if using a modded x-bow, you can duct tape a crayola into the original barell outlet, which is a worst-case scenario ultra-fast ammo change. If using a breach, you can carry pre-loaded barells (especially useful for shotgun style configs). If using a BBB or x-bow style weapon, cut 1/2 inch pieces of barell material, such as crayolas, and duct tape them to the side of your weapon of choice. This provides easy access and security.

One other thing you could do is get a tennis ball container and duct tape that to yout waist, that can hold a lot of darts.

Fanny packs are great. Cxwq uses one. I have a belt-looped velcro pouch on my hip that holds 35-40+ darts just fine, all lined up and ready for the picking. It was originally intended for an aluminum flask, but it holds darts just fine. Most of the guys in my clan just use pockets, and then some of them are using the recently relesed zip-closed mesh pouches that dart tag refills are coming in. They hold a crapload.
