I was thinknig about buying one until my dad showed me this article saying that the Xbox 360 had many problems and gliches. I think I changed my mind. Besides I am willing to wait for the PS3 which will have even better graphics. Yes more expensive but you get even more quality. I might wait for the PS3 too I don't want any problems.

Maybe some of us love gamming. Why would someone have like an N64 these days when we can have graphics like a million times better. Things likes PS1 and N64 are obselete. And maybe for some people $1000 isn't much. A homeless man will think $1000 is a fortune but a billionaire would think $1000 is like a penny.

And yes Iv heard on the CNN news that the expenses for an Xbox 360 was $500 and they are being sold for $400. They make money from selling games I think.

I'd kill thousands of n00bs just to get a chance to play NES 8-bit for an hour, with the game of my choice of course.

I've only been given one system by my parents. That was the NES when I was five. The N64 and the Gamecube were bought by pooling the money from myself and my two younger brothers. I find gaming cool, but not cool enough for me to ever buy a system of my own. I'm just happy getting my butt kicked when I play at other people's houses.

I know people will still buy the 360, whether it has problems or not...

But, what about the Revolution?
Everyone disses it but I think it has alot of potential. The controller is actually pretty cool, even though it might take a while to get used to its uniqueness.

All I'm saying is that I'm going to wait just alittle bit longer for all the next-gen consoles to come out. So far, all the release titles havent really impressed me all that much and unless I see something that is just so awsome, so unbelievably cool, I'm gonna keep it neutral and wait.

Exactly, I mean, think about Star Wars Titles for it.

Think Lightsabers.

I resent that. I have a NES, a N64, a SEGA Genisis, and an Xbox.

Origional 8-bit Zelda is one of the greatest games ever. I just wanted everyone to know, that I bought that with some of my "small fortune" (all $1000. lol)

Haha, wow I see some people highly disagree with my thoughts. I just think it is retarded to try to make a what almost 700 dollar profit of an xbox. Thats just greedy. Its even worse that some people will but it. I don't know. I was thinking and i think that when ps3 and nintendo revolution hit the market there will be a kind of price battle and they will try to have the lowest price out there. Im just angry because I want xbox 360. Okay, im really don't want to go wait in line for a day or fork out 1000 dollars for one. I barely even want to spend 400 (im thirteen years old. 400 dollars is a lot for me). Also my parents wont buy me one for christmas because they think 400 dollars for a gaming thing is too expensive. So, whatever. To all the comments about ps3 being better but more expesnive. All I have to say about that is your paying for name-brand technology on that, thats why it is more expensive. And to all the nintendo 64 being obsolute comments. Thats bullshit, and obviously you have no appreciation for games. Games aren't based on their graphics. They should be based on gameplay and content. I would easily pass up halo2 or call of duty2 anyday to play a game of golden eye, or the original blitz, or mario cart. Remember Zelda, worst graphics ever. probaly the best game of all time. I just can't wait for Halo 3 to come out in the fall of '06. That game alone can beat out PS3. Plus, what good games does PS3 have, okay the only i can think of are socom, metal gear solid, and granturismo. Not worth 700 dollars or however expensive its gonna be for like 3 games. Whatever screw videogames, they make people fat. JUST NERF INSTEAD. HAHAHA

Well I must say its defineately worth the $399. It performs integer operations in half the time it takes the PS3, which comprise 85% of the operations. The PS3 does Floating point operations twice as fast but FLOPS only comprise 15% of the instructions. Blu-ray disks will be harder to manufacture and take more time due to need to retool all the machines. Blu- ray disk players will start out at $1200-$800, so the many people who are speculting that the PS3 could be as much as $600 when it first releases may be right. I think the company that will really do well is nintendo. Their controller is very unique and enables unique capabilites in ceratain, games, the system is portable and very powerful, and if they unleash an online database of old nintendo games I could see where they would have a good foothold on the market.

Making a profit is not greedy. You need a profit to make money. You can't live without money, it is a necessity. If you think that a 700 dollar profit on an xbox is greedy, think of all the realtors who make thousands of dollars of profit on each house they sell.
Taking advantage of people who are willing to pay that much on an xbox is not greedy, it is business.

Plus, what good games does PS3 have?

Agreed!

Viper, I agree with you that Nintendo is going to do the best in this round of consoles. The controller really is revolutionary, which is what nintendo was going for. If the new idea is good, then in 2010 or whenever the next wave of consoles comes around, you'll see sony and microsoft trying to work their way around the patents and make a similiar controller. If the new controller doesn't succed, I still congratulate nintendo for trying something new to help further advance the gaming industry.

I have a feeling the revolution is gonna be another gamecube which means no good games and posibly mario party 15

No good games?!!! There are plenty of great games for the cube, and they suit all different kinds of people. Sure there's Sesame Street and whatnot for all the little 5 year olds, but there is still Medal of Honor and Resident Evil and Soul Caliber for the people who prefer a bit more action in their games. Super Smash Brothers Melee was a great game for all ages. There is no blood and gore, but its still very fun for older audiences. Also, you can learn to play in half an hour, but its impossible to master, making the replayability great.
However, I have to agree that nintendo is going way overboard with mario party.

I may sound like a fanboy, and I suppose I probably am a little biased towards nintendo. I'm not totally against Sony and Microsoft, their systems are great too, I just prefer Nintendo's systems because of the fact that they are friendly to all ages. If you want to whine that my opinions differ from yours, go cry to your mommy.

Honestly, I was such a poor bastard during the golden years of great Xbox games, so I'm just gonna wait till after Christmas and go on a mad spending spree on great Xbox games that will have dropped to 10 bucks or so.

I can't wait till in 2-3 years when Xboxes drop to 50 bucks or so, I'm gonna pool money with a couple of friends and buy like 4 more. The LAN parties will be insane!

What the fuck, dude?

-Metroid Prime 1 and 2
-Super Smash Bros. Melee
-Tales of Symphonia
-Paper Mario and the Thousand-Year Door
-Luigis Mansion
-Gotcha Force
-Super Mario Sunshine
-Viewtiful Joe
-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
-Resident Evil 4
-Custom Robo

And I've just scratched the surface...
Just like what Lakeside says,
Sure Nintendo doesn't have many "M" rated games, but that doesn't mean that its only for kids.

You just need to get out more...

Okay, so I guess you think that the rip off mario games are fun.I think that they have ruined mario by making so many. I personally hate metroid prime though. I think that it is the stupidest game ever. Well, whatever suits you I guess.

Nintendo has the right idea by trying to breathe life into the gaming industry...maybe they'll actually put something NEW into the Legend of Zelda series (don't get me wrong, I'm a fan). I hope that the PS3 isn't as expensive as the current speculation states, but that simply means it'll be longer before myself (and most of the people I know) get one. It's neat to see this becoming an industry standard however: Powerful PC's in a reasonable price structure. These systems are expensive consoles, but well-priced computers. Let's hope these giants continue to make bank on software, and continue giving us cheap hardware.

In reply to Davis, it makes perfect sense. MS (Sony, Nintendo) want to ensure that their numbers look good, and thusly want all their systems purchased. The illusion of rarity is important. Nintendo even admitted it was a tactic they used in the yesteryears.

Here's my take on the current-gen systems. The PS2 was, in my opinion, the best of them. That is until recently. They seem to have slowed their output of really good games lately, and I figure it's because they're getting ready for the PS3. PS2 had awesome games with a lot of replay value, but I didn't find many fun multi player games.

The Xbox was always a fun shooter system, starting with Halo. It was a pretty much the "serious" party system. Awesome graphics and the lack of need for extra shit (memory cards...) made it a plug-and-play nerd party.

The Gamecube was the fun kid system. I'm sorry to everyone I just offended, but with the bright colors and low ratings, that's what it was. I'm not going to deny that I had a lot of fun with it myself, but I also experiment with mild hallucinagens. So it is the party system for either kids or stoners. Of course I still spend hours playing SSB, and I never played WindWaker so I can't comment on how awesome that game was.

That's my take on the systems, and those as well are my expectations for their next-gen siblings. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, like Fable for the Xbox or Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube, but I feel I've pretty much nailed down their strengths.

Dude... what are you talking about? There's always something new in each Zelda game. It isn't always better, however. Just because Link to the Past had everything a 2D world could have doesn't mean that the Ocarina of Time had much lacking in it.

Overall guys, there is no console war. There is no price war. This is your gaming experience. You go for what game system supports your style of play. I like RPG's and random Quirky games, so I went for the Gamecube first, and haven't stopped having fun yet. I then got PS2, because of the RPG's. I like FPS's, but it wasn't worth my $150 to get an FPS system (X-brick).
