Hasbro let us try out the crossfire at maniac 2 and here's what I have to say about it.

First and foremost it is basically a scout though I believe it was a little more power with ranges around 20'-25', its (5) ammo holders are great and, here's the best part, it attaches to the dart tag blaster and firefly finally justifying the rails.

The End

Why, why, WHY does Hasbro come to YOUR wars? Huh? I wanted to hold the Crossfire, not you!

Other than that, thanks for the info. I didn't think it had a regular plunger style like the NF; oh well, I probably wouldn't have bought one anyway.

What are ranges? Like twenty feet, I'm guessing, if it uses the Scout style plunger system with the stupid slide cocking mech. Do you think it has any mod potential? Thanks again.

EDIT: Thanks for the ranges, even if they are sucky.

It gets around 20-25 feet (eyeballed) and I doubt it would get more than 35 feet without a barrel replacement (tight brass or cpvc). Also ask Team_Slaya and OMC about it for their opinions. (all measurments are for dart tag darts)

Hasbro travels to a select few Nerf Wars throughout the year. I have been privileged to be at such wars at least twice (one of which was the first they had ever attended). Their attendance is based on several variables. Timing is one of the greatest factors, and so are travel expenses. They hit up MA and NJ because traveling to the war can be done in one long day. If you compare that to other locations around the country, the price of attending would be higher sincde travel time and expenses would be higher.

It comes down to this: they will go where there are hard core nerfers that are in close proximity to their headquarters in CT. I'm sure they wouldn't turn down other locations (like sunny SoCal), if the money was there.

I realize that's where they saw it, but is there any way those of us who aren't as privelaged as those at maniac 2 to see this weapon?

Did they bring the target it looks like it will have? Or just the gun? Size-wise, did you put it up against a nite finder or the other pistols? Were you allowed to take any pics of it attached to the Firefly or the DTG?

Thanks for the news.

No, we haven't got any pics, I don't think, unless OMC took one. I didn't see him do so, however. The Crossfire goes up on top of the DTG, as you know, and from the black thing it extends to a bit less than 3/4 down the length of the DTG. I do belive it's smaller than the NF, hence the scout innards.

The target thing is meant to be put on the player's arm and seems to be about 10" diameter I only got a brief look as they didn't take it out of the box. Also unlike the dart tag set, the crossfire is packaged individually so I wonder wether there will be blue as well or just red.

I imagine the crossfire has a receiver like the Titan does that holds the scout? Or something to that effect in order to attach? Does that mean we could connect the nitefinder EX-3 and the crossfire? Or is that not possible?

Actually you probably could but it would be more like the the crossfire attaching to the EX-3 based on, if nothing else, size and wieght.
