Ok so I just realized that Smarties (you know the candy that comes in rolls) fit quite well in half inch CPVC with a little persuasion. It fires good out of my quaded AT 2K and it's super fun to shot at people because it's candy. I know this is childish but fun. Also mini marshmellow fit into CPVC too, A great party game ehh.

I just figured that out a few days ago. It's decent, but I haven't range tested it yet. Though, it cracks on impact (From my singled AT2K.). There are more cons, but, I don't feel like listing them.

Ummmm.... As far as I know, Smarties come in boxes, not rolls, so are you still talking about Smarties, or something else?

You know what, this subject was ridiculous at NHQ and it still is. Shooting hard projectiles out of a nerf gun? (Even the glue tip of a stefan has foam around it, no?) At unsuspecting victims too, as opposed to someone in on the game/joke? Seriously. Just shoot foam.

Whoa, our(canadian) smarties are different than yours. We call your smarties rockets, and our smarties are chocolate covered in different coloured candy.

Well acording to Wikipedia Nestle Smarties were interaduced in 1937, and m&ms were intraduced in 1940.

Well I've had "regular" smarties and nestle smarties and I can say that there is no way a nestle smartie could fit in 1/2" cpvc so I think we can safely assume he was reffering to "regular" smarties. M&Ms are knock offs? I had no idea, I still like them better though.

ok I though of another candy that would work after reading this post. Tootsie Rolls works just fine, you have to form it to the right diameter of your barrel put tape around the middle and if you want, glue the ends in for better performance. I already tried it outside, but lost it in the leaves becasue it went so far.

Here's a novel idea: stick with the foam. This is a nerf site; not a "find new ways to shoot entirely hard projectiles at kids/animals/unsuspecting people for fun and psychotic tendencies to develop later in life". This thread is dumb and pointless. Why even bother with a nerf gun? Why not just go all the way and THROW the candy? Shoot, throw the nerf gun? How about throw the candy while it's still LOADED in the nerf gun? And marshmallows; DTR was talking about using hardened year-old ones. At people.

Geez.

Bravo.

People like to try and find different, cheaper, maybe even better methods of shooting things out of their Nerf guns than reguler stefans. I've tried many things myself. In the end, however, stefans always work best, so...leave them to their own devices until they figure it out.

OR, since they are indeed doing some R&D, they could perhaps come up with a better dart that a stefan  . That would make them well known, perhaps.

In either case let them try.

Here'a an idea, stick with nerf! I'm sick of these people tryin' to make nerf guns shoot alterative ammo, it' s Nerf, shoot foam! Is that a hard concept? If it is for you, you need help. And if the only reason your Nerfing is to be the best at it, then your in the wrong hobby/sport/lifestyle. Threads trying to replace nerf bullets are getting on my nerves, and I'm fed up with them. Nerf=foam, not try to shoot some $hit at people, and call it nerf. Stick with nerf.

WRONG.

This isn't nerf research. They're shooting candy and marshmallows. This isn't R & D. Did you see the matchstick darts? THAT'S nerf dart R & D. This is "hey, let's see if I can shove *insert random object/candy/woodland creature* down the barrel and find out how far it goes. Then I can ask if anyone else has done this and it'd be cheaper! And I can shoot passersby and children!" The only possible exception to this was when murakumo said he used berries but only when he ran out of darts and was on the run, but to that I would say "Dodge and run until you can pick up the foam ammo." Why even bother with a Nerf board or hell, why bother with nerf when it's going to boil down to grabbing whatever I can and putting it down the barrel? you said it yourself, Sinfil. DARTS. These aren't darts. They're freaking candy.

I wouldn't leave this alone because I respect their "research," I would hope it meant Darwin would sort them out.

You're right.

To anyone who cares:
-To make new types of darts, always use FOAM. For example, regular nerf dart foam, ear plugs(they make excellent long range rounds if you have patience), or just regular FBR.

Nerf on.

I am sorry I ever made this topic. It was a one time fling then I ate the smarties and it ended. So this should end because all I usually use is foam. And babies holding hammers, just kidding about that last comment.
