Assuming everyone nerfs like in the video I saw of the last south cal war I'm gonna say that me and the people I nerf with also nerf with more milsim style tactics because honestly the way they nerfed in that war didn't look like much fun.

And as everyone knows, money makes the world go round. It's also the root of all evil, therefore the world going round is evil, and we should stop the rotation of the planet.

People do, but not many. Milsim stuff is more airsoft oriented. NERF is more laid back. I play both, and keep both seperate for the most part.

If the other players are bad, I rush. If they're good, I take it slow,

And Flamebo - any idea where I can see that video?

Most Nerfers don't use milsim tactics for Nerf, and I definitely don't. I suppose it depends a lot on your environment, since milsim style play would probably be more effective at night, and also how you prefer to play. I don't use milsim tactics - I've tried it and frankly it's boring as balls. If you're in a war with more than four people, there won't be much room for that type of play either because there is so much going on (people getting shot and shooting you), and if it's one-on-ones, which is pretty much all I play anymore, it's pretty useless. That's precisely why I prefer Nerf over paintball, I've never played airsoft.

When I nerf I use some military tactics like hand signals but for the most part it's just a fun game. At night it seems that staying low and not talking may not be all that usefull but rather it makes it feel very tactical. I'm still trying to find out where to get some good smoke grenades and maybe flashbangs if they aren't too dangerous. I heard from someone they sell 2 Flashbangs for $50 at Canadian Tire but I'll have to check on that.

Ummmm... Somthing tells me that flashbangs might get the police involved.

It sure would involve the police.

Just think about how passengers would react to sudden flashes out of nowhere and people running around with black plastic guns.

Only cheap, homemade ones that people here have talked about before. I was trying to find a specific post here, where someone on the forum talks about their PERSONAL experience with a real swat flashbang, but searching turned up nothing. I think it was Talio or another vet, possibly TIS or OMC. They were severely disorientated and had to sit down and have a drink of water for quite a while, possibly an hour, before they regained their composure, if memory serves me so. If you conduct a little search on flash bangs there is some really good discussion on them.

Oh and stay away from making your own. I know some work, but it's the ones that don't that will leave you with permanent damage.

On the topic of real life tactics in nerf, I think the real problem is that the limited ability of nerf guns is why not many peaple bother to use such tactics. I've tried to think of how I could use all the stuff my dad tought me but kept running into the same problem, range and load time. If however I had a bunch of guns like the FAR it would be easier, but if everyone used a gun like the FAR would it still be nerfing? As far as hand singnals go yeah I've been using them but thats all.

Ace, I see what you mean about a nerf gun's limited ability, but I don't know why you believe the FAR to be a solution. No offense to boltsniper, but a nerf like a petg at3k is more able than the FAR; it's lighter weight, less cumbersome, can get farther ranges, and still has a great rof. The far is more 'milism-y' in appearance, but there are more capable (and more accessible) nerf guns out there.

...I would take the FAR over an AT3K, just because it's so badass. :(

I agree, but then again, I am clearly more into fashion than function. Hell, my favorite gun is the Mav...
