I'm going to get the ball rolling for a SoCal war to be held in late February.

Does anybody have any good ideas for location? We could just use the same area used by the LANOs if there aren't any better ideas.

Can I get a show of interest here? I want to know how many people to expect.

If you have email/AIM for any SoCal nerfers who aren't on this forum, let them know about this thread please.

A little off the topic, but do you think that some of you guys up near L.A. will be able to come down to San Diego if Steve (neonerfer) and I set up a SDNO or something during Spring Break? I'll be down at my mom's for the break, so we were probably going to try to have a Nerf out during it.

i would definately want to go to a february war...and there is probably a 90% chance i could go.

i think the usual spot is pretty good. if you are dying for something else: i have found an okay spot up in La Canada (about 10 minutes wester on the 210 than pasadena), the only problem is you have to deal with frisbee-golfers, because some of the best nerfing areas are on or near a frisbee-golf course. there is an open river-bed that's a good spot a few minutes up some trails from there, but i think it might be too confusing to group mass hords of people there. it has water there, and food about 5 minutes away.

maybe i can get my wussy 12-year-old followers into nerfing shape. they preformed poorly at armageddon, the only good move i saw by any of them was when my brothers friend (about 11, kind of tall for his age, asian, short hair) shot VACC (when almost everyone was watching). There were only three people left in the game and VACC had just capped off the other kid, pistol style.

EDIT: oh, i might be able to make a SDNO, and having it over spring break improves my chances of being able to go.

OK, let's start making this official.

YANO - Yet Another Nerf Out

The war will be one of the last two Sunday's in Feb - either 2/16 or 2/23. I'll firm that up once I talk to a few more people that I want to be there.

Same rules as Armageddon: No excessive camo, eyewear required, no homemades, no brass/copper 5000s, no exposed weights on stefans, mark your darts well if you want any back, West Coast rules.

9AM to 5PM, lunch break at noon. If you aren't ready to play at 9:15, you miss the first war.

Same location as LANO/Armageddon. We'll probably spend most of our time in the 'urban area'.

Depending on the number of people we may do some CTF.

Head count please.

count my head in. and a possible 5-9 others with me, depending on whether we have two cars or not. 5 total is the most probable number to use.

I'll be there for sure. BTW, any of you used the Airtech 4000 personally? Email me with your thoughts on it. I need a new main weapon, and I want more range than a PC. Can the Airtech 4K be brass modded?

It might be able to me brass modded. If so the only down fall would be it being front heavy.

You'd better believe our lousy asses are gonna be there. Probably the regular 8 guys, give or take. Jeeze, it's great to hear from you guys again. I heard about it at school today and word got around fast. I'm stoked. My BBB is better than ever, I had it measured at around 100' last time I used it. And about the SDNO, I'd be cool with Spring Break. The location is simply amazing, wooded with a big rock formation in the middle, a dry/running river running two of the sides and tons of trees and cover. I'd be more than willing to organize the thing. I can't wait for the YANO.

Excellent! Nice to hear from you again Steve, I was about to email you about this.

Oh Cx, also count on me bringing two of my friends from college, my girlfriend, and hopefully her friend from Thousand Oaks. Also maybe another guy who emailed me recently, I'll let you know.

Does anybody know how to contact the Desert Storm guys? I KNOW they'd be up for some nerfing.

EDIT: Damn it seems like we can't have a <20 person war if we TRY.....

Its times like these that make me add another reason the the "Reasons to Leave NJ" list.
Oh well, the east coast doesnt suck for nerfing really. Know whatd be really cool? If we got an east vs west coast war. Yeah, I know it wont happen, but it would be very cool.

Dayam, this is working out nicely!

rawray7 (+5)
superadaquabat
spoon (+4)
jordan
zack (+?)
box
neonerfer (+7)
saxman (+3)

That makes a potential war of 24, including me. Given the usual 2/3 show rate that's a probable 16 combatants so far.

Spoon, are Hubbard and Jenny up for some Nerf?

Kevin and someone else (Josh?) from Desert Storm just signed up for the forums... don't know how they found out about us. Speak up guys!

Ryan, I allready took the liberty of talking to the desert crew. They first asked if homemades would be aloud, I told them to post here asking, but I guess they didn't. They seemed very uninterested...

Correct me if I'm wrong Cxwq, but homemades aren't allowed AFAIK. I'm suprised they're so uninterested! You'd think they'd jump at the chance to play in a war I'm not running. ;)

Cxwq: Not sure about Hubbard, I havn't talked to him in months, but I'll call him. As long as he isn't working I think he'd come. Jenny will be a no-show however.....

EDIT: Also Cxwq be sure to add John from San Diego (he had the PVC backpack powered PC), along with a few of his clan mates, though I'm not sure how many exactly. I told him to email you or post on the boards. I'd say we'll get 20 people for sure. If you remember we actually got MORE people to show up than had RSVP'd for Armageddon last summer. God I don't ever want to run a war that big again.....Just too crazy. In my mind, 20 is the perfect number. I'll bring the flagging tape!
